Today was not an excellent day for Mihail. One might even dare to classify it as an awful day.
Granted, Mihail was a cynical sort and, as far as he was concerned, most days were fell into the latter category. He was simply excruciatingly good at finding the bad in every situation: nitpicking was his gift, although some might have called it a curse instead. For someone so interested in the words of others, he could hardly care less what they thought about his overscrupulous tendencies. As far as Mihail was concerned, nitpicking was one of the most useful weapons in his arsenal - it went hand in hand with his skill in finding the worst in people - and having such terrible days from time to time was simply an unfortunate side effect of that.
That being said, what he tended to consider an 'awful' day was most certainly not what a lot of people would have thought of as being terrible. His struggles were almost always those that might have been considered trivial and, without a doubt, they were. You would be hard-pressed to find something truly reasonable on his list of people he thought had wronged him. But that in itself had to be considered little more than a consequence of his upbringing, the result of starting the child off with no confidence in the world and then throwing all too much at him all too suddenly. Mihail had been taught to be petty and he found himself absolutely wonderful at it.
And pettiness could extend to all manner of things. One might think he could only be petty towards people but the skill extended beyond that because Mihail could find reason to want vengeance on the temperature for being too hot had he wanted to. Today he was finding a source of irritation in just that, and then some.
Luckily, ridiculous causes of distress or not, there was always one person he could confide in, and this had been the case for almost the entirety of his life. Back when Mother had been alive, many years ago now, and back when Mihail had been not even six years old, she had surely been his best sibling. Of course, he was the youngest of all the siblings so undoubtedly was on the receiving end of quite a bit of coddling from all three sisters (Dysius, on the other hand, had never been so kind and always more interested in 'manlier' signs of affection) but it was always obvious that, of the three, he had connected the easiest and the earliest with Thea. She had always been there to provide him with the support he'd needed when he'd felt oh-so-hated by his mother and, from that point onwards, she had simply grown into his dearest friend, and that was strange in itself because Mihail rarely tended to keep friends that weren't useful in some way.
Mihail had made his way to find his sister, ready to share with her all the troubles and strife of his life. He had opted to find her in the courtyard of the Thanasi archontikó, taking advantage of one of the rarer days of good weather in Colchis; one of the rare occasions when the almost torrential rain they had suffered from all through the night and earlier that morning had stopped and the citizens of Colchis were enjoying some sunshine, although this had done nothing to stop the humidity and, honestly, Mihail's hair was paying for it. Just another thing to add to his list of grievances.
"Thea!" he greeted his favourite sister, moving to give her a kiss on the cheek and a soft embrace. "Enjoying this stunning weather we've been blessed with? Or are you, like I, rather hoping the humidity will leave us be?"

With her voyage to Taengea only a few weeks away, Thea found herself in the throes of preparation for the journey. For days, she spent restocking her stores with the various botanicals grown from her balcony and the courtyard, in addition to drying and crafting appropriate offerings for each day of the festival to be presented in Dionysus' temple. This was the culmination of her year, the central focus of her faith being celebrated on such a large scale in a place that did not side eye it so harshly as they did in Colchis.
With a small, thin blade and a foraging back looped across her torso, she walked alongside the waist-high shoots of hemp and the crawling plants that grew up the sides of the courtyard walls. Her discerning eyes carefully examined each specimen, finding the ones that had grown to their full potential and trying to estimate whether or not the ones remaining would survive long enough for her to return to them. Leaning down to a small cluster at the tip of a shoot, she used one hand to gently cradle the leaves and buds and with a very precise flick of her wrist, she cut it free from the standing shoot. Examining it in her hand, she could not help but smile, knowing how useful these would be on the journey.
It was not only herbs and plants for pleasure and recreation in her bag, but a number of medicinal herbs that were used to restock her veritable traveling apothecary. With no proper physician traveling with them aboard the vessel, she knew the value of having a proper stock to take along with her, just in case.
As she placed the cluster into her bag, the juices staining her fingertips with a strong, pungent scent, she heard Mihail approach her. A quick examination of his face let her know that, once again, he was in a mood, despite the loftiness of his greeting. Offering her cheek to him for the kiss, she moved to replace her knife in its thin sheath, holding it in one hand before the mention of humidity caused her hand to naturally drift towards the damp curls that had pressed themselves to her forehead.
"I could, indeed, do without it," she replied, dabbing at the beads of sweat with her wrists. Ah, she would have to bathe again. "Then again, the heat in Taengea has always been drier than when we are blessed with it here." Slipping the knife down into the bag, she took a mental account of all she had collected on this venture and decided it was sufficient, at least for today. The next order of business would be to allow all of this to dry. Taking a bit of a sigh, she began to move towards an archway that led to the covered walkway, out of the sun. Her skin would receive mistreatment enough at sea, no need to add insult to injury.
"I am still not certain I have forgiven you for not accompanying me this time," she said, prodding the old sore, but adding with a sigh, "Though, I can understand I suppose, if you swear to keep my darlings from dying." She tilted her head towards her specific circle in the garden. Moving to a small fountain embedded in the wall, she dipped her hand in the cool water and placed the refreshing droplets on her forehead and neck, before turning to face him.
"Did you hear? Without your company, I am to be in the company of the most noble and exquisite Crown Prince, Vangelis of Kotas..." Her eyes rolled slightly as she added a flourish to his name. It was far to high profile of a companion for her taste, and one with another agenda as well. "His voyage to both Taengea and Athenia times out appropriately, so it became far too convenient to refuse..."

"His voyage to both Taengea and Athenia times out appropriately, so it became far too convenient to refuse..."
"The heat in Taengea may be drier but I wouldn't consider it more pleasant by any stretch of the imagination," Mihail answered, pushing the stray strands of his hair back behind his ears. In this heat, loose locks of hair were not something you wanted getting stuck to your face. "I think I would much rather take my chances here. With any luck, this heat should eventually subside and the gods should bless up with some rain." Not that Mihail had ever liked the wet weather all that much either but he most certainly preferred it to the hot kind of humidity they were currently suffering. This was not what he had been raised on. "But, if you would rather have the Taengean weather, I am hardly stopping you."
There were plenty of reasons why Mihail was not accompanying his sister on her trip abroad, one of which being that he simply wasn't all too big a fan of travelling. Of course, he had travelled in the past, it was oftentimes a necessity and he would do it when he knew it was likely to be beneficial to him in some way, but when he had the option to remain, he generally took it. The Festival was different, however, and an event he always took part in with Thea, even if it required travel. This year, however, there were other reasons that meant he could not accompany her, more pressing matters he felt he needed to attend to.
Ever so briefly glancing over at his sister's personal section of the garden, he gave a subtle nod of the head, knowing that his sister wouldn't even need to hear the words to know his response was in the affirmative. Gardening and other activities that involved getting dirty in any manner had never really been up Mihail's alley and, were it a request from anybody else, he would have been reluctant to agree. People outside of his inner circle - people outside of his family, that was to say - were not usually the recipients of his personal favours. With Thea, however, Mihail was well aware of just how important her plants were to her and he wasn't about to let them die merely because she was abroad and he wasn't interested in the act of keeping them for her. He could most certainly be cruel but that didn't extend to his close family.
"I have heard," he answered, almost automatically frowning at the mention of the Kotas prince, though the added flourish Thea gave his name caused his lips to twitch upwards slightly into an amused smirk. He did appreciate the way she appeared to loathe them just as much as he. "I can only hope you do not make the same mistakes as Evras and somehow end up trusting the family. Though, I suppose you're not wrong when it comes to convenience. If there is anything of use you discover on your trip, I would appreciate it if you were to let me know." Not that she wouldn't. Mihail knew he could have faith in his sister to always help him as was needed.
For the moment, however, there were far more important matters at hand.
Clapping his hands together as though in excitement, Mihail nodded his head toward the entrance back into the family home, grinning at Thea. "Now, I have had the most awful day and I somewhat doubt you are having a particularly good one either so I was going to suggest you and I head inside. I thought we might need a little something to relax, hm?"

"Now, I have had the most awful day and I somewhat doubt you are having a particularly good one either so I was going to suggest you and I head inside. I thought we might need a little something to relax, hm?"
"Be careful what you wish for with rain, lest the gods decide to be heavy handed with it," she teased, knowing how easy it was to prod her brother by simply being contrary. He was a melancholy sort of fellow, but she supposed something had to contrast and balance the lightness of Evras, the intensity of Nethis, the fury of Dysius and Thea's own mysterious tendencies. In truth, if each of the siblings were the ambitious type, she was certain that more than one of them would be dead by one of the others hands by now. Fortunately, there was a significant balance of ambition and apathy to keep their sights facing outside of the Thanasi walls as opposed to within. Unlike many other noble families, as it turned out.
Thea shot a look of warning to her brother as he mentioned their sister's ties with the Kotas family. Amidst all the suspicion that surrounded their engagement, marriage, and prompt start of the family, there was ample reason for distrust. As time passed, the luster of the gossip faded, and as was evident by Evras' frequent visits and stays to the Thanasi estate, so had the the sheen of their marriage. Nearly a decade had passed, and Thea had marked the changes in Evras once soft and shining demeanor. Nethis of course had her say on things, but Thea could not help but feel sympathy for her younger sister, wanting to offer comfort when she could. Mihail was so young when Evras life changed, he had only ever seemed to know her as a Kotas and seemed to simply repeat the chiding their father frequently parroted around their forced family dinners. It did not suit him to chide, but it did suit him in his manner to find all things wrong in a situation.
"I am certain that I will have plenty of stories to tell, especially one in particular," she chimed, quick to change the subject before Mihail added a few more chips to Evras already wounded veneer. "Nethis has a few things in mind to secure our foothold in Taengea as well, but it will all depend on if the new baron is willing." A slight smirk curled at the corner of her mouth as she added, "I am sure I can negotiate the best terms for us. I may not be Nethis and all her schemes, but I am certainly better at sweetening the pot than she is."
As Mihail returned to his brooding and faintly whiny state of melancholy, Thea rolled her eyes at his dramatics but held a softer expression. The two of them were far more similar in many ways than the others, particularly in their ways to fill the hours. With a mild shrug, she readjusted her skirts and the satchel on her hip and gestured for him to lead the way. The courtyard had doorways to both interior and exterior stairs, but they took the former up to the higher level, where their sleeping quarters were. As they walked, she spoke, feigning a motherly, jesting tone.
"Now, now. I'm sure it is not all that terrible, but go along. What has torn your soul to shreads today?"

It was not rare for Evras to visit t he Thanasi household, despite her marriage to Prince Zanon. Ever since their estrangement for reasons Evras had yet to figure out eight or more years ago, she was more oft seen at the Thanasi residences then she was at home. Today however, she had a specific reason. She heard heard from the grapevine of servants via her own personal lady's maid that Thea was slated to leave for Taengea and its festivities in a few weeks.
Knowing that it was the festival Dionysus that Thea was headed to, and that her sister would not miss her patron god's festival for anything, Evras simply wanted to give Thea a hug and a kiss before her voyage. Knowing that the woman was to travel with the crown prince, her brother-in-law, was at the very least a calming though. She knew Vangelis wouldn't let anything happen to her, at the very least, even if Evras was half convinced he thought they were all witches too.
Having left Dion in the care of servants and his uncles as he had been a litlle under the weather, the pale princess had made her way to the Thanasi residences, where the servants were quick to admit her entrance upon recognizing who she was. Evras still visited often, which meant nothing surprised her as she entered. The emerald green cloak was quickly taken by a servant, leaving her in only her pale blue chiton with silver threading through its sides. "Where may I find my sisters and brothers?" Evras asked in her usual calm tone, as the door closed behind her.
"Lady Thea has been preparing herself in her rooms. Lord Mihail has went searching for her. Lady Nethis is out with Lord Dysius and your father visiting another noble house, my princess."
As always, Evras flinched at the title, a title her husband had bestowed upon her on their marriage. Previously, she had brushed it away, not seeing a reason to use it. Now, people using it only served as a reminder of all she had to sacrifice now that her husband had expired of his love for her, and what she was now trapped in for her foolishness in trusting him to begin with.
Letting it slide however as the slave was fairly new and obviously have not been warned, Evras turned and took her way up the stairwell, heading for where she knew Thea's quarters were. Her slippered feet barely made any sound as she treaded upon the marbled floors of the second level, smiling as she caught wind of her siblings voices just ahead of her, obviously having just got up the stairwell as well.
"When has our brother not have a horrible day, Thea? He always has dark clouds hanging over his head." Evras chimed in, as she ran up the last few steps to instantly weave her hand through her elder sister's arm, and turned to grin and give Mihail's hair a ruffle, a sign of affection she always doted on her younger sibling. The youngest girl, Evras had always been more cheerful then Mihail, and it showed in the joyful smile that was always absent when she was in the Kotas residences."Where are you two heading now? Do take me along, I dinna want to return."

It had always seemed to Mihail that his sisters enjoyed joking around far more than was necessary. Simply because he was the youngest member of the family did not mean to him that they should constantly be permitted to tease him. There may have been plenty of things the man disliked - ironically, his dislike for so much being one of the very things his siblings made fun of him for - and he may have had plenty of complaints about most everything but there seemed nothing wrong with that. As far as he was concerned, there was nought more important than airing your concerns to the world and allowing all to be aware of exactly what irked you, be it something as petty as the weather or otherwise.
"I wish only for that which would undoubtedly make life far more bearable," he answered with a shrug of indifference. If the Gods willed heavy rains upon them, then he would simply have another thing to complain about.
Mihail knew that Thea was only avoiding the subject he had brought up in order to protect their other sister's pride, a task he thought useless when she was not around. Of course, he adored Evras dearly (something the boy would never willingly admit lest it be seen as a sign of weakness or any cause for slander against him) but his hatred for the house she had married into was almost equal to his care for her, and any chance for defamation would be taken. Thea had easily changed the conversation to the plans his older sisters had been making in the other kingdom and, eager as Mihail may have been for any gossip related to House Kotas, the subject of their scheming over the past year was not one he was willing to pass up. "You will have to inform me of everything," he agreed, nodding keenly at her suggestion that their overseas power would soon be increasing. "I don't wish to miss a single piece of the news, especially given that I shall not be attending the festivities with you this year. As for whichever terms we come to, now those are something I need know as soon as possible, although I have no doubts you shall find the conditions which suit us the best." It was her particular speciality within the family.
Yes, yes, laugh at the boy who found all things to be an inconvenience. Well. Once they heard of his troubles they would understand and then there would be no more laughter at his misfortune. Mihail drew himself up to his full height, hands on hips, all too ready to inform Thea that it was as terrible as he believed it to be when their other sister suddenly appeared. He had not been aware she was visiting that day but, naturally, he had no objections. Any time that could be spent with Evras was time Mihail appreciated, seeing as he was so against the thought of visiting her in her new home instead.
"Those clouds are there for good reason. Or have neither of you noticed the heat today?" Yes, his primary grievance that day was one that might be considered absurd but it was not as nonsensical as things had been in the past. He let Evras run her fingers through his hair in such a childish manner, an action he would never have permitted another, especially with his slight curls in such a horrendous state at present, yet pulled away only a moment later, moving to take the lead for his sisters in the direction of Thea's chambers. "I was hoping Thea might have something to take my mind from it. You are, of course, most welcome to join us."

The weather was undeniably bothersome, but there are other things for Lady Nethis to complain about and the weather was not one of them. Although, the eldest sister does wish that Apollo would show a little mercy on the people of Colchis, because sweat is not that attractive to Nethis. Still, there were other things to worry about, soon Thea would be off to Taegaena and further security will be anchored. Everything was slowly falling into place, Evras has found love in Zanon of Kotas, the brother of Prince Vangelis of Kotas. Slowly, House Thanasi is becoming a name the world may never forget, though Nethis has to dance with the Fates a little bit longer. There have been some unforeseeable mishaps that are currently minor, but in time could prove to be great issues. The Prince, where he is a man of great promise, was too stoic and jaded for Nethis to sneak her arms around… A minor problem, she couldn’t worm her way to his graces, which was much to her surprise because many men would gladly want to bed a beauty such as she. That alone made Nethis question the man’s overall sexuality, because denial of Nethis’s touch simply does not happen, at least it is not something she is used to.
Nethis will have to keep an eye on the Prince of Kotas, but her eyes and ears are everywhere. Even her own sister has made work for Nethis just that easier. Nethis couldn’t get to Vangelis, but Evras love and affection towards Zanon has made an opening for the eldest sister. Of course, there are problems to arise, but those problems could be dealt with in time. All Nethis needed was a way into the Kotas family. Each one of her siblings serves a purpose to the House of Thanasi as it is their duty, including Nethis’s, to make sure it lives on. Everything Nethis has done is to secure their family name in a place of immortality, but she can not do it alone – she needs her family. Dysius has been a darling towards his older sister with knowledge she cannot so easily grasp as a Lady, despite her known reputation. Her brother has a strong disdain for the Kotas brothers that she has certainly milked, though soon the apple of chaos will be dropped, and disarray will soon follow.
Nethis just finished her walk with her young brother, Dysius, a lingering smile etched her face as kissed her brother’s forehead softly following her exit, “Thank you my dear brother – we shall speak again later on the matter.” With that, the eldest sister turned to find her other siblings to simply check on them. Nethis walked the halls in a gown she would consider simple, but to woman in lower stature it would be adorned. The gown was a soft hue of red that exposed only one shoulder, before covering the rest of her lustful body. Nethis wore a golden snake that wrapped around her upper arm that was exposed her fair skin, though she also wore similar golden jewelry that enhanced her beauty. The woman continued her way until she came upon the room, where most of her siblings have gathered. A small smile spreads, before she greeted her family, “Well by the gods – almost all of my siblings in one room… Hope we are not conspiring without me?”

Their brother had always been a dramatic one, and Evras rolled her eyes as she slid her other arm around Mihail's, grinning at him in a way that Evras only ever did when she was at home these days. The dark haired youngest sister of the Thanasi clan had a sweet smile and a sweeter disposition. Evras was strong, a facet of her personality that had come from years of Nethis ensuring that none of her siblings were weak livered characters, but she was always of good heart and greatly adored her siblings and family. Dysius was the only one who was a bit of a stretch, but even he, Evras would willingly bend rules for to help him if necessary.
But Mihail was the one she found great joy in teasing, making him laugh through the dark clouds her younger brother seem to enjoy having around his head. Shaking her head ruefully as she turned the three of them into a corner that led to Thea's rooms, she said "Isn't that a common occurence, brother? If that is your grievience, you will have clouds around your head for a long while until we reach the end of the year."
Turning to enter a room which Nethis or their father would often use as a meeting room to entertain political or casual visitors, be it barony or Senate related, Evras released her hold on her siblings as she fell into a kline that was in a corner of the small room. An opened window ensured the fresh air and sunlight that streamed in the place, albeit bringing the heat along with it. A small, sturdy table was positioned in a corner, along with multiple chairs arranged around it. Sparsely furnished, but serving its purpose, it was that room that Nethis found them in, and Evras gave a small smile at her eldest sister.
Evras loved Nethis, just as she did the rest of her siblings. But it was undeniable that Nethis had interests that did not meld with Evras's. It was quite clear that between the siblings, Nethis and Dysius ran together, while Thea, Mihail and Evras were often found in the same room. Despite so, it didn't change the fact that they were siblings, and Evras waved their eldest in with a smile. "Of course we are, sister dear. How else would we be called your siblings?" Evras teased, lighthearted in a way that would never surface had she been in the home of her husband.

The way Evras spoke implied that Mihail didn't find himself in some mood or another almost every day of the year, and he couldn't help but snort at her comment as they entered the room. Whilst some people appeared to believe that happiness was the key to success, he saw otherwise. Anger and frustration made you a stronger person, made it easier for you to see all the faults in the world and the way that you might go about correcting them to suit you. It did not do to be ebullient all year around, lest you make the mistake of assuming the world was perfect. His nigh on permanent state of aggravation did nothing but enhance his own ambition. Nonetheless, with the weather in such a freakish state, he saw himself as perfectly justified in his frustration for that day.
"It is hotter than the usual," he said once again, nodding out window as though his sister would be capable of looking out and seeing the temperature for herself, despite the room itself sharing the mugginess of the air. "I can hardly think like this." And, being a Thanasi, his mind was one of his best weapons. He did not want to be left unable to focus it.
Once again forced to slide away some loose curls of hair that had opted to stick themselves to his cheek - some might have said it would be easier for the boy to simply cut it and leave it far shorter, just as he'd had it when younger - Mihail was about to take a seat beside his sister when they were quite suddenly and unexpectedly interrupted by their oldest sibling. He wouldn't have thought she'd be returning home so soon after her walk with Dysius but he couldn't complain. "I'm not sure we would dare hatch any kind of conspiracy without your input." He moved to greet her with a polite kiss on the cheek, as was the customary way for him to greet any of his sisters (he might have done it to Dysius too if the man hadn't disagreed so much when he had last done it a few years back). Mihail took a seat at the small table in the corner, leaving the more comfortable seating for his two sisters. "We were simply looking for something to take the edge off the incredible heat. If you would like to join us..."

Nethis loves her family. Everything the woman does is for their betterment and for the generations to come after, so once Nethis joins their ancestors in the fields of Asphodel she will find comfort knowing her family is secured. Some men and women of Colchis are not keen to the Thanasi House, especially the one is currently holding its reigns with an iron grip – the world doesn’t know it, but Thanasi House was no longer a Patriarchy. Lord Dionysius, at this point in his career, was only a figure head to Nethis’s rule, because she is the backbone that is holding their family together. The very glue that keeps House Thanasi in an affirmative position, therefore enemies will surely be dealt with swiftly and allies are encouraged to invest. Sadly, many allies are skeptical of the Thanasis for good reason, but there are more benefits than loses when dealing with House Thanasi. Nethis is big on payment and repayment, if you are dealing with Lady Nethis she will do what she has promised, though she will expect the same in return. Now, things may change if the benefits no longer are benefiting her house, she will surely severe ties and clean up any trails. Because of this, Nethis has picked up the reputation as being a snake but incriminating her will not stop her from procuring her family’s legacies.
Nethis embraced her youngest sister, “Gentle Evras, the gods gifted me with this joyment.” The Lady smiled, before turning to Mihail with another smile, accepting his kiss upon her cheek, “I’m glad you wouldn’t try,” Nethis said as she rubbed the side of his cheek affectionately, “I do care to join you all as my talk with Dysius was shorter than expected, but all is well.” Nethis ended, before finding somewhere to sit with much needed comfort, and alas she found a velvet sofa to relax herself upon. “This heat has been rather unforgiving – you know what they say when the heat rises, the blood will surely boil,” Nethis said as she flipped some of her raven-colored hair out of her face, “Hopefully, Ares doesn’t touch us with the want to spar, because there are other ways to relieve our psyche.” Nethis turned her attentively towards her younger brother, “Out of curiosity little brother, is there anyone you wish to take some frustrations out on?” Nethis said with a small smirk, “Our dear sister Evras has an outlet to her own frustrations, but I’m only wondering what you do… more importantly who you do to relieve your…stress.”
The one thing about Nethis, she isn’t afraid to ask a question, if its on her mind she is going to ask slyly. At this point she is only being noisy and wanting to converse with her siblings, picking fun was always entertaining.

The girl returned her eldest sister's embrace warmly. While a younger Evras had been more cautious of Nethis and her cunning ways, as Evras grew up, she had saw and understood how everything Nethis did, had been for the good of the family, and had at the same time been taught that nothing could come beyond loyalty to family. It was why when problems had cropped up between herself and her husband of which Evras could not seek the reason or solution for, it was to her family that she first turned to, and to her family that she ran for solitude.
So in recent years, Evras had grown much closer to Nethis, and now fell into the soft plush seat, toeing off her slippers to tuck her feet daintily under her chiton. She waited for the eldest to join her. A flush flooded her cheeks, and she gave Nethis a pointed look, unsure if she should take what her sister said for its face value, or read between the lines. Choosing to ignore the comment however, she turned to allow Mihail the spotlight.
Just then, Thea appeared to have a sudden thought, pausing in her act of taking a seat next to Mihail, before speaking. "I'm afraid I must leave for now. I just remembered an urgent matter that required my presence before my departure to Taengea... forgive me dear sister." the second of the brood murmured in her elegant manner.
Watching as her second sister pressed a light kiss to Nethis before she drifted away, a slightly look of disappointment flittered past Evras's face, but was quickly washed away as she turned her gaze back to her remaining two siblings. "Looks like its just us. What was it you and Thea wanted to use to alleviete this heat then, Mihail?" Evras questioned, eager look in her piercing gaze, a glimmer of cheeky curiousity lighting them up. "Also, do answer Nethis's question. It would do good to share, you know."

As Thea was forced to leave so suddenly (a pity, Mihail had been looking forward to the brief prospect of spending time with all of his sisters at once, something which seemed increasingly rare nowadays, especially with Evras living away from the family) he could not help but pout slightly, turning to answer the others' questions, however surprising he might have found them. He could have sworn he had heard rumours circulating all of Colchis of both his and Thea's habits, although he supposed his sisters' doubt was reasonable: rumours were often less than true.
"I had hoped that Thea would be able to provide us with some of her more soothing herbal concoctions," he admitted with a shrug, sliding down in his seat to relax himself somewhat as he considered an alternative. Whilst he most certainly had his own supply of less than medicinal drugs, it was nothing compared to Thea's and, besides, he could hardly be sure of what Evras or Nethis might prefer. "Now that the pair of you have joined me instead, perhaps I should change my plans."
At least he still had the opportunity to spend some time with his sisters.
Gods, when did everyone become so fascinated by Mihail's love life!? He didn't exactly want both his sisters knowing exactly what was going on with him at all hours, much less what he did in bed (or who he thought about in bed, given that he hadn't exactly achieved anything physical with the current object of his affections). Besides, what if they then told his brother? That was a whole new level of humiliation just waiting to happen, and he knew it. Dysius could not be trusted with such sensitive information. But, at the same time, he couldn't leave Nethis and Evras without knowing now that they had asked, and he could not avoid the subject much longer.
Glancing out the window to avoid making eye contact with either of them, saving himself the embarrassment, he commented: "If you must know, I have met someone. Euphemia." And that was all he was really capable of saying on the matter because neither did his sisters need to know more nor did he know all that much more. It had only been one brief meeting, after all.

Marriage is a powerful tool, and for a lot of people it is how families become wealthy nobles. Nethis has become very interested in the love lives for her family, because of the reason that the family could profit off it. Nethis doesn’t see anything wrong with her thought process, especially if her sisters or brothers are accepting of whom they married – now the choice in the matter may not be there, since their elder sister is very convincing when she needs to be. Evras and Zanon of Kotas maybe her best work yet, because she could just see the benefits of becoming attached to the royal family. Of course, all things will come in time and Nethis will continue being patient with the present opportunities. Besides, Nethis has several other siblings to assist in marriage, though she must soon consider herself as a candidate. The more lines of Thanasi blood is living, the greater chance their family name will live on, but she prays that her brothers will have sons. Their last name most carry throughout the kingdoms as well as the years, otherwise everything would have been for not – still there are those born of Thanasi blood in other families.
Nethis was only being light-hearted upon asking her brother of any significant others, because when it comes down to an actual marriage everyone knows the elder sister is the orchestrator. Now, she is not going to totally neglect her family’s wants, but if the opportunity is something that cannot be overturned, then she is less likely to pursue her loved one’s dream. Because the life they live now is not for them. The generations that come afterwards are going to reap the benefits the family has set forth, and Nethis is going to be one to contribute to that kind of world for her family. A world of increased wealth, power, and stability. The enemies of Thanasi are going to crumble, because they would be outnumbered and outmatched. If you aren’t prepared for the future, then you won’t be prepared at all. Little things can surprise Nethis since she is quite strategic and has contingencies upon contingencies, though of course she cannot outmatch the Graeae.
Upon hearing the name of her brother’s interest, Nethis eyebrows rose in slight surprise at lacking hesitation. Although, the only problem Nethis was running into is that she doesn’t know the woman. Her brother failed to distinguish the House she comes from to make it easier to figure out who she is exactly, so it made Nethis wonder a little further. Was the woman he fraternizes about a common girl…a slave? The only way Nethis would allow a commoner into her home is if he or she was to serve her House, but in no way would it be a marriage of Thanasi blood and that of lesser. Before the elder could get worked up about this Euphemia, she’s decided to play more with the situation. Obviously, if the woman was without a house, then there can only be one reason to why she would find interest in Mihail, despite his obvious charm. Nethis kept a smile on her face as she looked her brother, “Oh, I must always know little brother, but you’ve seemed to have trumped me,” The elder sister continued as she crossed her legs as she leaned back gently, “I am unsure of who this, Euphemia is… Could you tell me what House she hails from?”

Evras had chuckled when Mihail revealed their plans - she had occasionally partook in the herbal concoctions her siblings shared, when she had been younger and willing to try. After moving away from her family after her marriage however, her pregnancy with Dion had meant Evras withheld from such mixtures, and having to keep a level head when her son had been younger and wilder, meant it had been awhile since she had been near something Thea would have. In a way however, Evras probably would have partook in some had plans continued - Dion was old enough now, and her frustrations with her husband needed an outlet.
A pang of regret hit her, but Evras was quick to wipe it away as she watched Mihail slide into the seat. Using a supporting arm as she leaned towards her gathering siblings, she raised a brow at Mihail."You surely have some of your own, Mihail, do not lie." A twinkle of a tease was clear in Evras's eyes as she leveled her gaze at the younger one, listening eagerly to the name he was going to reveal. A Euphemia? Ah... interesting. Evras's love life had happened in a flash - Zanon and her had been quick, and fast. In many ways, she sometimes wondered if perhaps it was due to the speed, that had led to their falling out in recent years.
When Nethis spoke however, Evras turned to her, refusing to dwell on the sad state of her marriage while she could be enjoying her time with her favorite people.
Knowing her sister, Evras's smile faltered a little when she questioned on a house. Of course, her marriage to Zanon was, as Evras liked to beleive, one of love. The fact that Zanon was a second prince was only a lucky boon... yet had she not fallen for Zanon, Evras had no doubt the marriage would have still taken place. To that, Nethis would have made sure. Evras had always known her marriage would be arranged by her eldest, ambitioned sister.
But Mihail? Would he be able to take it? "We... there is a Euphemia in the Kotas household. A servant girl to Zanon's youngest sister." Turning to Mihail, a question was brimming in her eyes, faint concern hidden behind it. "But there are many Euphemia's in Midas, is there not? How did you meet?" Attempting to lighten the conversation, Evras laid a hand on her sister's arm, a small smile on her lips. "Perhaps the lady herself wanted to remain a secret? Her noble house holds secrets perhaps?"

Perhaps the boy did have his collection of herbal concoctions but, quite honestly, there was always more appeal in sharing his sister's. Thea could often be so touchy about those things, and Mihail had always liked his sister making him feel special by offering him those extra permissions. He wasn't one to ever admit it, but he supposed he did quite like being babied.
"I did..." he answered, stretching out the syllables as long as it took for him to come up with a reasonable fib in response. Luckily, he had a scapegoat which, as far as he was concerned, always seemed reasonable. "...but Dysius stole them. You know he hates me. It doesn't matter, anyhow. I'm happy just to talk with my sisters."
Mihail had been all too prepared to inform Nethis that he did not care what house his beloved hailed from and that he would care for her nonetheless when Evras felt it fit to share her opinions on the subject and he found himself faltering. It was all too bad that there was a possibility he was infatuated with a servant girl, but the fact that she may have been a servant girl in the service of House Kotas had taken him completely by surprise. He was far too proud to admit that there was a chance he may have fallen for a woman who attended those he saw as bitter enemies and, instead, shook his head hurriedly in response to his sister's suggestion, as though to cover up his discomfort.
"I met her at the temples a few days ago, and I can assure you, she is not a Kotas. I could never care for one of them." His gaze shifted towards the younger of his two sister's, almost worried that she might take his words against the house she'd married into as too harsh. Mihail may have loved Evras dearly, but he would never make any secret of his dislike for her husband's family. "And I would think I have higher standards than a simple servant girl."
It was fortunate, then, that Evras had moved onto another line of thought, one which would hopefully distract from Nethis's query as well. The suggestion was more comforting than any alternative, and he nodded in agreement as he turned back to Nethis. "I am sure that must be the case. Perhaps she was under the impression that I might only want her for her family name rather than for any genuine reasons. She might have somehow thought I was from some poor or unknown family." Although how that would have been possible, Mihail was unsure, given that he had been dressed quite excellently when they had first met, and it would have been hard to mistake him for some lower class. "I did not tell her the Thanasi name. She only knows me as Mihail. I could be Mihail of Midas for all she knows."
