The Meeting Hall of Midas was one of the most important places in the Kingdom of Colchis, Today, it was a massive hive of bustling activity, voices carried far as various topics were discussed. The reason for this activity was the nearing departure of the Crown Prince, Vangelis, who would be leaving Colchis within the next couple weeks to attend to affairs in Taengea, with him would be the newest Captain of Colchis, Alexandros Iraklidis, and a small group of retainers. The activity of the court, despite the justice and necessity of it, was boring to the young officer and had soon become his most begrudged part of being the Captain of Chaossis. While he enjoyed his access to the leading members of the Kingdom, the tedious nature of the affairs was draining on him. He had performed his tasks and ordered his affairs and now was simply waiting for the order to depart the city. He stood at the back of the meeting hall, leaning against the wall as the politics of the court droned on and on, having long since stopped paying attention. He caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye outside of the Hall, a flurry of movement from a small form. He turned to give this novel view a closer inspection. A young woman, wearing more masculine clothes, seemed to be practicing with the sword. As he watched, she flowed through a sequence of motions as if it had been practiced many times, but her movements, despite showing an obvious skill with the blade, lacked certain fluidity, as if she had never truly needed to use them. It was as if he was watching a dance, rather than someone preparing to fight. A smirk crossed his bearded face as a thought appeared in his mind, perhaps this would not be so boring of a day after all. He looked around for a moment, ensuring he wasn’t seen, and then dipped out of the great Meeting Hall of Midas.
The practice continued as he approached from her back, closing in unseen. She was more attractive than he would have guessed from the Hall and very well practiced with the blade in her hand. “Grow bored of the blowhards discussing the taxes of the various provinces and escape from them to take out some pent up aggression on the air?” Alexandros asked with a smirk as he closed the distance, stopping just short of her reach with the sword. His hands rested on the hilts of his swords, and he was wearing the nicest tunic he owned, as well as a cloak with a clasp that displayed his rank. His brown hair was tossed by the wind, and his blue eyes were studying the woman before him, both as a woman and as swordsman. “I’m afraid you might need some help or much more training, but you are certainly better than some of the men I have had to teach in the past. Who thought that a Rose such as yourself needed such a dangerous thorn, hmm?”

The sun shone high overhead as the crisp sea breeze filtered through the surroundings, in it the sound of clashing metal could be heard even in the distance. A girl dressed for battle as if she were a man fought the training dummy that was set up for practice. No one would ever guess, at a glance, that it was the princess of Colchis who sliced her sword at the dummy. Athanasia was angry and had been for most of the week. Ever since she found out that her brothers were going to Taengea and that she was not allowed to attend any of the festivities there, she found herself in the training field. She didn't know exactly what it was all about, not one would say a word to her other than she was not allowed to go. Usually it was like this, always a no and always having to stay in one place, coddled and protected from anything and everything.
Her arms grew tired from the weight of the heafty blade, used to her dagger or her bow, but Athanasia pushed herself to keep swinging. Maybe if she knew how to use the sword, she could join? Was it because they didn't think she was strong enough? That she couldn't protect herself? Athanasia was so lost in her own rage that she never heard anyone come up behind her, so when a voice rang out asking if she was bored and taking her aggression out because of it, it surprised her so that she swung around with the sword pointed at the intruder as she became ready for battle. His smirk sent her even further in her rage, "My bordom? Do I look bored to you?" Sweat slid down the side of her face as she glared at the man. She could see his hand was on his own sword but he didn't look like he was about to test her. His comment on needing training even as she was still dangerous, had Asia rushing at him. She didn't take it as a compliment in that moment, any other time she would have, but with her thoughts wondering if she was just not good enough and that being why she was always stuck at home clouded her mind. She knew she would probably miss him if he took her charge seriously, but if he didn't, then that would teach them not to patronize her. "Take out your sword! Fight me if you dare." With those words, she started to strike at him.

“My boredom? Do I look bored to you?”
Alexandros was surprised at the pent up rage within the young woman and equally struck by her features. She was beautiful and seemingly very familiar, but the sword pointed in his direction cut short any chances of recognition. He laughed a bit at her words and the obvious threat of the sword. "No, you seem rather angry, was it some boy who hurt you? Perhaps you should point that at him rather than me. Swords are dangerous, y'know?" He said still smirking at her. His teasing was sure to do little to defuse the situation, but he felt at ease because, unfortunately for her, he did not take the threat of the sword as a real danger to him.
She knew she would probably miss him if he took her charge seriously, but if he didn't, then that would teach them not to patronize her. “Take out your sword! Fight me if you dare.” With those words, she started to strike at him.
He stepped to the side of her charge, narrowly avoiding the reckless attack launched at him. Her speed was a bit surprising, but not too much for him to deal with. "I'm afraid that you don't know what you are asking for, my dear. It would not be good for you to fight me, but perhaps you might learn an important lesson." He said as he paced back to create some distance between them.
It seemed the girl was committed to seeing what he could do with his own weapon, as she continued to throw cuts in his direction. "Very well, I tried to warn you, it will be a shame to mar that pretty form with bruises. I have killed for less than this, but I'll make an exception to teach you." He said with the smirk never leaving his face. He reached across and drew the sword on his left hip, leaving the one on his right on full display.
The blade flashed as it leapt from the sheath to meet her own naked weapon. The stylized woman on the hilt was shining in the sun, no doubt the lewd display would only antagonize the girl further. He parried her blows with deft ease as he danced with the angry woman. "Your skills are well developed, someone trained you well, but you lack something that would make you a true warrior. Do you know what that is? What separates those who dance and train like you from those like me? Let's see what answer you can put forward before I finish the lesson." His tone had not changed even as he took her slightly more seriously. His voice was husky and playful as he played at fighting with the sheltered girl.

The man before her's words did not help her mood, at all, his laugh even less so. To her, he was a condensending malakas who needed to see just what this princess could do. The comment about a boy hurting her had her laughing, though the laugh was anything close to joy. Athanasia possibly looked rather scary, with her Kotas anger at full blast, she charged at him. Each swing he seemed to dodge with a swiftness most soilders have, the same agility that she matched with her own as she tried to pick up speed. Rage fulled her, each time she tried to strike him and missed, it made her angrier as she demanded that he fight her.
This man infuriated her, with his words and how he spoke on her not knowing what she was asking for. The thought made her snort in contempt, knowing she would even challenge Vangelis if he were here at that moment. "What? You scared?" He was taunting her, she knew it, so she thought it fair to taunt him back. Watching as he moved away from her, Asia followed as she continued to take slashes at him. She aimed for anywhere she could, including his legs, in hopes of throwing him and making him trip. Neither was the case as she watched him pull a gaudy blade from its sheath, making her make a disgusted face when she saw it and roll her eyes at his words. "You call that a blade? You sure it won't brake when I hit it? Also, who says that I haven't learned from better teachers than a... whatever you are?" She wanted to make him loose that smirk, one way or another. When his blade clashed with hers, drawing him close as he seemingly danced with her, Athanasia used a move that her brothers taught her. Lifting her booted foot, she kicked the man as hard as she could in his stomach as she shoved him back and away from her. Bouncing on the balls of her feet as she moved even further away from him, she now smiled at his words. "You think that you can teach me anything that Vangelis or my brothers haven't? Well come on then and try." Now that they were seperated some, she dried her palms one at a time on her tunic before getting a better grip on her sword's hilt. His playful tone did nothing but tell her that he was used to women fauning over him, he was in for a surprise as Asia went on the defensive now.

“You call that a blade? You sure it won't brake when I hit it? Also, who says that I haven't learned from better teachers than a... whatever you are?”
He laughed as she spoke of his sword and her teachers. "I am certain it won't, it has killed more men than you can count. As for your teachers, I have no doubt they had the utmost skill, but certain things require you to learn by action not by being taught." His voice turned stern as he spoke, hoping she might learn something from this even through her unbridled rage. He lowered his guard as he parried a strike and soon felt a booted foot to his stomach.
His diaphragm spasmed for a moment as he caught his breath, anger boiling within him as he continued to pace around her. "Very good, that was better, you need to use that anger, it could keep you safe, if you don't let it overwhelm you." He said after he had gathered his breath."
“You think that you can teach me anything that Vangelis or my brothers haven't? Well come on then and try.”
He was surprised to hear the mention of his commanding officer by this girl training on the edge of the Meeting Hall. Perhaps she was more important than he had thought, but that didn't really matter to him now. He was going to teach the girl a serious lesson about combat, real combat, not whatever play that she had done with her brothers. This was not some game, it was life and death at every moment, and she needed to learn this. "Whatever you learned from the Prince or your brothers is not the lesson you still lack. The most important lesson for any who pick up the sword." He said in a voice that turned cold as his smirk remained across his face. He closed the distance between them in long strides, stepping with a purpose and calculating the distance between them as he moved. His sword sung as it moved through the air, dancing as if it was a part of his arm. Each blow fell in rapid succession as he tried to drive her back and overwhelm her guard. Thrusts, overhead cuts, side cuts, backhands strikes all came with practiced ease and each stayed just out of reach to do harm should she fail to block them. He had no intention of harming her. The fiery little thing interested him to no end. Perhaps he would mentor her or try for something more, but all of that would have to wait, for now she needed to be put in her place with a lesson that would not soon be forgotten.

Perhaps he would mentor her or try for something more, but all of that would have to wait, for now she needed to be put in her place with a lesson that would not soon be forgotten.
Her taunt of his sword had him laugh, which was not the reaction she was expecting, at all. It was his comment on the blade not breaking because it has killed people that had Asia rolling her eyes, death was not a new subject for her. Something she never experienced first hand but she had heard stories about battles and the people that died from her brother, she still remembered how Silas would like to go into extra grusome details just to mess with her when they were younger. Asia threw her weight into each swing before she slammed her foot into the man's gut to make him go away. "Well, since no one will allow me into ACTUAL battle, I learn where I can."
She could see the anger grow on the man's face and it made her smile that she got him there. It proved that he thought she was a flower and she just taught him that she is no flower but a leopard and will bite him. "You ok, you look a little winded now, old man." His comment on using her anger, complimenting her even as he paced around her angry himself, making her shake her head even as she followed his movement. She never let him behind her, always shifting so he was in her sights, so when she commented on Vang and her brothers teaching her she could see his surprise. Of course he knew who they were.
The surprise was her moment as she lashed out again as she slammed her sword into his, her strength was wanning as she started to tire out but she wasn't going to let up on this. Not after the insinuation that she wasn't capable since she was a woman. Hearing his comment about her lessons with her brothers still left her lacking, Athanasia now was ready to kill this man. How dare he say that she was lacking! His voice had turned cold even as he still smirked at her, she was quick to move as he did. Watching him close the distance with his much longer stride, Athanasia hopped back as she matched him, similar to how she moved when she fought her brothers who were even taller than her. Each thrust and cut, Asia matched as his blade slammed into hers. Her offense had now become pure defense as she used moved and braced her free arm against the flat of her blade, a move to add strength to her blocks as he made her move backwards.
To Athanasia's horror, she lost her footing as she fell backwards, but years of training had taught her how to turn this disaster into a move to get away. Dropping her sword, Athanasia angled her body to keep rolling the moment her bottom hit the ground. Up and over, her feet went over her head and landed firmly on the ground as she scurried back up. Two seconds suddenly felt like a lifetime before she was oriented and quickly drew her dagger from her hip. It was beautiful to any simple onlooker, the handle ornate with Colchis rubies around the pommel and guard and the rest was a pretty silver. It was obious the blade was well taken care of, and to the trained eye, they would see that it was very sharp as the blade was almost the length of her forearm. The dagger that her father gave her never left her side and in this moment she was glad she had it. It was lighter and she could move much easier with it. Athanasia still moved and blocked him, this time with the blade down as she used it to also guard her arm. Small cuts that he managed to get, she ignored even as the sting from sweat mixed with her blood as it trickled down her arms and legs. Athanasia was going to get him, atleast once, even if he somehow killed her she would make sure she left something to remember her by. Blocking a swing, Asia turned out so she rolled down the outside of his outstretched arm, moving quick to strike.

“You ok, you look a little winded now, old man.”
"Old man? I am scarcely older than you are." He remarked in confusion before he launched his assault on her. Each blow pulled enough to meet her block or miss her flesh. He had no desire to harm her permanently, bruises would do fine, however. Every so often, when her guard fell, he would swing the flat of his blade as an attempt to leave welts upon her. The blows continued to fall until she lost her footing and her blade.
The girl quickly recovered scrambling backward and drawing a different weapon, an ornate dagger like none that Alexandros had ever seen. He kicked her blade away and stepped between her and the blade. He blocked several strikes from her as she continued to try and keep up the fight. "Look, the fight is over, I have no desire to hurt you. You fought well by any standard, but still have much to learn. Most men would not have lasted as long as you did." He said as he put his sword back in its sheath. "Vangelis and whoever your brothers are would know as well as I do what lesson you have left, one that changes you as a person when you learn it. Until you kill a man, your sword will not cut as sharply as it should. Someday perhaps you will learn this, perhaps not." He walked closer as he spoke, trying to get the young woman to give up this foolishness and put away the dagger.
It seemed as though she was committed to continuing the duel, however, as she struck at him with the dagger. He dodged to the side, grabbing for her wrist as he attempted to avoid being killed by this enraged young woman. "Stop this, there is no point to continue until someone dies. It will do neither of us any good. I do not want the blood of a talented and beautiful young woman on my hands, and I have no intention of dying anytime soon." He said seriously as he locked eyes with her, signaling how intensely he meant his words. "Who are you? Who are your brothers? What has you so incomprehensibly angry?" The questions flooded forward as he tried to defuse the situation before he was maimed or forced to maim the girl.

Asia had struck a nerve and it made her laugh when he seemed to not like her comment on him being old, "And how old do you think I am?" Each blow, she could see how he seemed to not want to hurt her, which infuriated her more. Was he playing it easy just because he thought she couldn't take it? Every strike, Asia could feel it, knowing there were going to be bruises and nicks on her skin. In reality she had no one to blame but herself, even her anger with her brothers it technically wasn't their fault. Not truly since she knew Silas would sneak her along if their Pater and Vangelis hadn't put their foots down to keep her from going. This man came along at the wrong time and now Asia could not stop. She was stubborn and wanted to prove that she could be just as good as any man.
When she stumbled, Asia was quick to pull her dagger, not even minding when the guy stepped between her and the sword. Asia knew that she wouldn't be able to get it even if he moved, not unless she lucked out and he was one of the stupid soilders that didn't pay attention to anything. He didn't seem like that kind. Though when he put away his sword, for a moment she wondered if maybe she was that lucky. "You don't want to hurt me, but I find myself wanting to hurt you for every welp and cocky comment that you gave me." When he commented on her lasting longer than most men, Asia touched her blade against her forehead in a small salute. Asia was about to attack again but paused when the man commented on Vangelis and her brothers, saying he didn't know who they were, which had her look at him in confusion. "You really don't know who my brothers are, yet you know Vangelis...? You do realize than Vangelis is one of my brothers, right?"
Now she looked at him like he might not be quite right in the head since it seemed like everyone knew who she was. Granted there were some possibly, but he was here at their home, he should know right? "I never had the need to kill anyone before, doesn't mean I wouldn't though." To prove her point, she was quick to strike again. Even though he was now unarmed, she was going to show him. So when he caught her and grabbed her wrist just as she almost sunk the blade into his shoulder, Athanasia was tempted to bite him just like she would if it was Silas that fought with her right then. It wouldn't have been the first time either. She didn't know how she felt about being called beautiful, but his comment on her being talented and not wanting to kill her had Asia pause in her fight. She didn't pull out of his grip, still unsure if she would try again if he let her go, her fist tight around the hilt of the blade. Meeting his eyes with her own, he would be able to see her confliction at continuing with the fight or let the rage she felt go finally now that her muscles felt like they were on fire even as they felt numb at the same time. She knew tomorrow was going to hurt when she moved. "You seriously have not figured out who I am? That my brothers are Vangelis, Zenon, Yiannis, and Silas? That I am pissed off that I am always left behind while no one ever tells them they can't do something like some fragile and breakable thing?!" She never broke the eye contact with him as she ground out each word, trembling in his grip with each word as her anger simmered just under the surface. "I was venting my anger on the dummy, and then you showed up with your dummy comments." They annoyed her but the rage was already there, so his comments before were just kindling on a blaze that already roared within her that rivaled even Hades' inferno. "Now, who are you?"

“And how old do you think I am?”
He mused for a moment as he tried to pinpoint her age even as their fight continued. “Hmm, let’s see, you can’t be younger than 17, and you look no older than 21. I’m going to guess right in the middle and say that you are 19. What about me? How old do you think this supposed old man is?” He continued to smirk at her, but was genuinely curious to know how old she believed him to be.
“You don't want to hurt me, but I find myself wanting to hurt you for every welp and cocky comment that you gave me.”
He laughed at her statement, it was absurd. “Your blade betrays you, my dear. Those strikes didn’t have enough anger, enough malice to kill someone. Your sword may be sharp enough, your skills are good enough, but you don’t have it in you to be a killer, not yet. Perhaps you know that I wouldn’t truly harm you, and thus don’t have to, but without the will to kill your opponents you’d never survive a real battle.”
“I never had the need to kill anyone before, doesn't mean I wouldn't though.”
He frowned at this passing statement, perhaps he had made light about what she lacked in her skills, but the commitment to truly kill someone was no trifle. “You are over double my age when I found that I could do it, it changed me, although I doubt any child could come away from that unscathed. I still wear a scar that showed how unprepared I was. That day cost me the one thing that was most dear to me, I hope you never have to discover what you can or cannot do in that manner, believe me, you don’t want to know that badly.” His eyes darkened and his voice grew softer as he spoke.
“You seriously have not figured out who I am? That my brothers are Vangelis, Zenon, Yiannis, and Silas? That I am pissed off that I am always left behind while no one ever tells them they can't do something like some fragile and breakable thing?!” “I was venting my anger on the dummy, and then you showed up with your dummy comments.” “Now, who are you?”
Alexandros was confused by her words, but he slowly began to piece things together. “I apologize, I had no idea that you were his sister. I am Alexandros Iraklidis, Captain of the Red Knights, your brother is my Commanding Officer. He speaks of you more often than anything else that does not pertain to work, you should know. He really does care for you, and he doesn’t see you as something fragile, I believe the opposite is what concerns him. You are upset that we are leaving soon and you have to stay, no? Do you not know why they want you to stay here?”

Athanasia didn't answer his age question, just giving him a small smile that was smug as she let that thought steep in his mind to make him wonder if he guessed right and what age she actually thought him to be. In her mind, he looked to be around Silas' age, but he could technically be older and just look young. His words made her pause as he commented on how bad it was to kill someone, something that she already knew and prepared herself for the many years that she trained. "I know, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't if the time came for it." She stopped pulling against his grip as he spoke softly to her. The threat was there, just under the surface of his tone, that made her not fight at that moment. It still surprised her that he had no idea on who she was.
As she snapped at him, laughing softly in surprise as she pointed out just who she was without actually saying her name and seeing the confusion before the shock cross his face. It was good that it seemed like he didn't hide his thoughts as she could almost tell the point that he put two and two together before answering her question on who he was. She was still in his grip, Athanasia betting that he was worried if he let her go that she would lash out again. "I would say nice to meet you, but I think any greetings have gotten off to a rocky start." At the mention of how much her brother talked about her, Asia was surprised since normally he was always so quiet when she saw him, but the thought still calmed her a little more as she smiled softly. "Yes, I have to stay and everyone is leaving. No one will tell me why I can't go to the festival in Taengea, just that 'it is not somewhere I need to attend' but everyone else gets to go. Why can't I? Is it actually a battle or something and they just think I can't defend myself? What?"

“I would say nice to meet you, but I think any greetings have gotten off to a rocky start.”
Alexandros laughed as he released her wrist, content now that she would not lash out any further. “I agree, swinging a sword at someone isn’t the best way to make new friends, imagine if some young noble or royal without real experience or only rudimentary training had spoken to you, instead of me. You could well have killed someone with your little outburst, but that can stay our little secret, if anyone asks we planned to spar from the beginning, yes?” It was phrased as a question, but there was little option in it. He knew she would accept so no one would hear of her folly.

He was surprised that she didn’t know what was happening in Taengea and why they wanted the fiesty princess to remain at home rather than joining the festival. Alexandros did feel that she deserved to know what was happening, however. “I’m surprised they didn’t tell you why we are going, perhaps they have good reasons, but I can’t claim to know their thoughts. The reason they don’t want you to go is that we shall be attending the Festival of the Dionysia. Women are free to be open with their desires and act on their desires as if they were men for one full day. It will be a day of drunkenness and debauchery the likes you have never seen, promiscuity will be the defining nature of the entire event. Does that explain why they won’t let you come? It has nothing to do with a battle or your abilities in anything else. I think they fear what you would do with the freedom of a man and for your maidenhead, more than for your safety. This is, once again, just between the two of us. Don’t go running to your brothers and father accusing them based on my words. I rather like my life here, and I’d hate to see it ruined because I told the princess the truth.” He explained things as plainly as he could, but the teasing smirk returned for the finale couple sentences.

With her comment the man, Alexandros, laughed as he let her go. For a moment she entertained a thought of giving him a good shove but didn't actually act on it, it was tempting though. When he was commenting on how she could have actually killed someone, Asia rolled her eyes. "I was mad but I wasn't that mad to kill someone. Not unless they are as cocky as you are, that is." Pointing out that his smirks and comments did indeed annoy her when she was already in an angry state did not help him at all. "Everyone else that comes to our home seems to know who I am, you are the first that I met within these walls, that did not." She didn't comment on his keeping her fighting a secret, everyone knew her temper so it wasn't that hard to believe that she either sparred or tried to kill him. Asia was blessed with the family temper.
The talk shifted to why she was mad to start with, Asia grounding out every word as she vented her frustrations as she finally turned away from Alexandros as she sheathed her dagger. Starting to clean up, she listened as Alexandros started to tell her why she could not go. By the time he said 'maidenhead' the sword in Asia's hand fell, clanging loudly against the other swords in the rack. Her face paled before her cheeks became bright red with shock and embarrassment as she tried to decifer what she just heard. "M-my... what? You can't be serious, THAT is what they are all going to Taengea..? Women can.." Athanasia was trying to not picture what he was talking about even as she couldn't stop herself. No one minded that women were so free in Taengea? Athanasia could drink, but it was never a lot and she had never been drunk before. Not even a thought about having anything like that with any man either. For a moment, Asia wondered what it would be like to be able to do all that, but she never wanted any man to get near her either all at the same time. Athanasia was still stunned as she moved to a bench on the edge of the training field as she sat down in it with a plop. "Why?" Finally looking up at Alexandros, she really looked at him without her anger now, "Thank you for telling me, Alexandros."

“Everyone else that comes to our home seems to know who I am, you are the first that I met within these walls, that did not.”
He frowned for a moment as she spoke about people knowing her. “I doubt any of them really know you past the pretty face and the family name. I expect that I know you better after that fight than anyone who recognizes you immediately. I’m sure they pander and offer the honorifics deserved, but how well do they truly know you? How well does anyone know you? Do you have any real friends? Or just your brothers, courtiers, and servants? Perhaps you can count one person on that list after today, if there were no other names upon it. I mean no disrespect, I’m merely curious about you.” His husky voice was genuine, and lacked its normal playful, pleasant tone.
“M-my... what? You can't be serious, THAT is what they are all going to Taengea..? Women can..”
He laughed as she stumbled on her words. The girl was clearly inexperienced in such carnal activities and sheltered from the nature of the festivities. “Oh no, that is not why they are going. There is some form of business to be attended to, and Vangelis wishes to learn the training methods developed there, but the trip coincides with this festival honoring Dionysus. We dare not offend an Olympian by dishonoring the festival. These are not usual behaviors in Taengea, mind you. This one day gives special permission to the women to act more freely, and what man wouldn’t want to attend that? What woman wouldn’t want the freedom to do as she pleases? I’m sure you see the appeal. Which is why they want you kept here, so they don’t have to worry.” Alexandros said, believing he had put all the pieces together. It wasn’t difficult to see that such a strong willed woman would get into no shortage of trouble with the freedoms offered in the festival.
”Thank you for telling me, Alexandros.”
He smiled as he took a seat beside her on the bench, the anger fading from her face made her all the prettier. “Of course, Princess. If you can keep secrets, then I will always be honest with you and tell you what they hide from you. You deserve to know just as much as anyone else does. Besides, when you aren’t trying to kill me, you are quite the beautiful woman, I’d be happy to speak with you anytime.” The playfulness returned to his voice as he teased her and began to laugh.

When she pointed out on how everyone knew her, Alexandro's comment surprised her when he twisted it to mean something she didn't even think about. He stated that no one really knew her outside her family, implying that he himself knew her as well. Tilting her head just slightly to the side as she studied him, Athanasia noted that his tone had changed, it didn't sound so infuriatingly cocky in that moment as he spoke with her, hinting that he possibly wanted to become a friend. "Are you saying that you want to be friends with me, Alexandros?" It was her turn to smile now as she looked up at him. "How much would you say that you knew of me just from that one fight?" She didn't take any offense to his comments now, the anger had drained everything away.
As they spoke on the event about to happen in Taengea, Athanasia was thrown for a moment at the very thought of anything he said, making her stumble over her words in shock that mixed with embarrassment. She listened quietly as he explained that no one was going JUST for the festival and also why they thought she needed to stay home. She could feel her cheeks heat at the very thought of going now, all arguments squashed as she completely agreed with it. Was she curious? Yes, she was. Was she frightened by the thought of even being close to another man in any way like that? Yes, though she would never admit to that one. She would rather just cut a man through than admit that any form of intimacy scared the absolute shit out of her. "Yeah... I can see why I should stay here."
Athanasia sat heavily on the bench as she thanked him for being honest with her as she leaned back to relax as she now looked up at the sky. The clouds passing like puffs of wool as they slowly drifted by as Alexandros sat next to her. As he commented that he would always be honest with her, his playful tone coming back, Athanasia laughed with him when he called her beautiful before sitting up and bumping her shoulder against his lightly. "Stop calling me princess when it is just us out here. Athanasia or Asia is fine. Plus, I know how to keep secrets. I appriciate the honesty." Going back to her relaxed pose as she looked up at the clouds, Asia couldn't help but ask him, "What about you? What brought you out here?" Asia turned her head slightly as she looked over at him, "Tell me about yourself."

Address: Your Royal Highness
“Are you saying that you want to be friends with me, Alexandros?” It was her turn to smile now as she looked up at him. “How much would you say that you knew of me just from that one fight?”
He laughed softly as she asked what he meant. “I suppose that is what I am saying, assuming you won’t try to kill me again. Although we saw how well that went over.” He gave her a smirk as he finished speaking. “I learned from that little fight that you are rash and quick to anger. You are quick to assume insults and faster to try and repay them. You are nimble on your feet and with your words, but you are quick to show off because you live in the shadow of your brothers and your father. You feel that you need to constantly prove yourself worthy for their attentions. How am I doing? You’re fiercely independent and not afraid to defend yourself, and that is why I want to be your friend. That and having powerful people close to you never hurts, does it?” He laughed at his last question and gave her a good natured push with the side of his arm.
“What about you? What brought you out here?” Asia turned her head slightly as she looked over at him, “Tell me about yourself.”
“What brought me down here? Well, I saw a pretty young woman playing with a sword and thought that had to be more fun than the goings on of the court. They talk far too much, words without action are meaningless, and they say plenty and do nothing up there.” He said with a chuckle. “But that’s not really what you meant, was it? I was born in Judea, my father was a mercenary and my mother the daughter of a priest. My father and I returned to Greece after she died,” his hand moved to his chest subconsciously as he spoke, moving from his left in a downward diagonal across it, as if tracing something unseen. “We continued to work as mercenaries for years, up until about a year ago. Somethings happened that made me rethink life as a mercenary, so I joined up under your brother as a Lieutenant and now I am his Captain. That is the short of it. The long story contains too much blood, gore, sadness, and pain to be recounted while I’m sober. So if you want the whole story, you’ll need to ply me with plenty of wine.”
