There are some crazy things that Athanasia has done and there are some fairly decent things that she has done that always ended with a good laugh, but this has to be the craziest thing that she has ever tried. Athanasia was sure that if her parents or any of her older brothers besides Silas knew what she was doing, she would probably be locked in her room for a month. If anything, she would just blame Silas for giving her this idea. He did, after all, send a message saying that she could learn a lot from his men. Also that he missed spending time and hunting with her, so she could be seen as just taking her brother up on his offer. 'Yeah, that could work.' She thought to her self.
The sun had not risen in the sky yet, leaving everything calm with the dim moonlight above. Asia had left the letter from her brother on her pillow and a letter to her parents stating that she was going to go visit Silas, packed a bag of clothes and waited till everyone was asleep. Dressed in a simple tunic, wearing the sturdy boots that Silas had made for her, Asia tied her hair back with a leather thong. There wasn't much to her look, and being as slim as she was, it was easy to hide. Her only consern was her face, so she used a trick that Silas taught her, smudging ash on her face to resemble a beard growing in. Now, she just looked like a pretty boy.
The air grew still as everyone fell asleep, making Asia smile as she hooked her dagger to her belt and grabbed her bow and her quiver full of arrows, grabbed her bag and snuck out of her home. The streets were dark but thankfully not as dark as to make her frightened, looking up at the sky and seeing the bright moon, she smiled up so Artimus could see her gratefulness. Athanasia started to run, her feet tapping the only sound heard throughout the quiet streets, a dog could be heard barking at her speeding by. She needed to make it to the docks before the boats left, the only way to make it to Lyncaea where Silas' camp was by boat and if she missed it this whole trip would be for nothing. It was by luck and by speed that Asia just saw the boat up ahead, the good news for her was that it was still there, the bad news was that they already started to remove the gangplank. "WAIT!!!!! I NEED TO GET TO LYNCAEA!!!!" Athanasia shouted as she ran, her voice traveling over the sounds of the waves and dock workers. She was going to have to jump for it. With her last burst of speed, Asia ran as fast as she could up the gangplank. Each foot fall, the wood below shook till she reached the very edge. Her boot gripped the edge of the plank, the board bending under her weight as she used it to push her foreward. Athanasia was airborne, looking below her she could see the water even as the deck of the ship rushed to meet her. Her feet landed with a hard thud on the deck even as her momentum still shoved her foreward still, causing her to roll before standing and catching her balance. "Whoo.. I made it!" Asia was extatic, smiling as she handed over some drachme to the captian for the ride.
Thankfully the ride was uneventful, Posidion was possibly asleep still as well for how calm the waters were and in a few hours, Asia could see the shore and the sun was starting to rise. The sun shone brilliantly across the water, making Asia shield her eyes as the boat got tied to the dock and the gangplank put into place. Thankfully Asia remembered where she overheard Vang talking with their Pater about where the camp was, so Athanasia set out to go see her brother. It took about an hour to find it and Asia wondered if Silas was even awake or that she might have the possibility of spooking him awake. "Oh Captain Silas...." Asia spoke in a soft kind of sing-song voice to see if he was even around before possibly seeing if she could sneak into the camp.

The day wasn’t too exciting. Banditry in Lyncaea was a problem but the local garrison worked alongside Silas and the Stone Wall to suppress them so they wouldn’t cause too much trouble. Raiding bandit camps and countering their attempt at ambushing defenceless carriages had been all in a day’s work for him and his men. It wasn’t too exciting, but it wasn’t too boring either. His men, and him were so well trained that the common layperson couldn’t beat them in any sort of small skirmish. They were a small part of the Colchian war machine, sure, but they were well oiled and adept at their jobs.
After a quick debrief of what happened and a meal with his men, something he always makes a point to do; Silas made his rounds. Tonight was going to be a late night for him, seeing as he was on roster for night patrols. Silas probably forgot, but one of his lieutenants reminded him on the way back just to tease him, Silas of course, took it well and shot back with a piece of banter that left the group in shambles. Night patrols were usually boring, but he didn’t let the mundanity it get to him. Silas was always cautious, better to err on the side of safety than be caught completely off guard.
The preparations for night patrols went by quick and the group of seven men left camp to patrol Lyncaea. As expected, nothing was happening at all. Just a few stragglers making their way home instead of causing trouble. They took a few rest stops on the way to the docks, and would be spending the night there.
When the morning came, the patrol returned to their route and made their way back to camp.
There was an odd figure idly walking towards camp, nothing too peculiar except for the fact that this person called Silas by name. He knew the voice almost immediately and a slight anger simmered in his chest. He gestured for his men to return to camp first and he would deal with this personally, if Athanasia’s presence here was made public, he would get in more trouble than he already had in his hands and he wanted to avoid that as much as he could.
His horse stopped in front of Athanasia when Silas pulled on the horse tack. He dismounted his horse and came to a stand in front of his sister with his arms folded across his cuirass.
“Do you know how much trouble you’re in right now?” he asked a rhetorical question. “Pater and Mater will interrogate me about this.” Silas said, more to himself than to Athanasia but it was loud enough for her to hear.
“What are you doing here?” he knew why, but he couldn’t directly account for her presence here and was wondering if all the men in the Stone Wall could keep a secret for him, especially to someone like Vangelis, or Tython. Whatever was going to happen in the coming days, Silas would clearly get the short stick of it all being the older brother. Regardless of the intent from Athanasia that he knew, he wanted to hear it coming straight from her mouth. One of them had to be the responsible one, and more often than not; that was Silas.

Athanasia was walking around and as she called out Silas's name, she could see a figure moving around and dismissing soldiers back into the camp. That had to be Silas, and seeing how he was now moving towards her, she knew she was right. Asia had expected the questions, giving him an ash covered smile after he dismounted, adding more to the fire as she shook her head. "They won't interrogate you. I let them know in a note that I was coming to see you." She paused just for a moment as she thought of how to word her next comment. "We shouldn't be in to much trouble, if any."
She left out that she only left a note behind, letting their family know that she was going to visit Silas, leaving the letter behind as well from him saying that he missed the mischief they got into and the idea he had of her training with some of his soldiers. Sure, it was possibly an off the cuff comment from a brother missing his sister, but with Asia she took it to mean to come visit. "I am here to train with you and spend time with my big brother. Is that so wrong? You did say that you missed hanging out with me." She was the vision of disguised innocents as she gave him a smile, the same look that got her out of trouble many times with their parents.
Asia hopped in front of Silas, her bag over her shoulder, and the look she now had was one of pure joy "So, what is the plan for today?"

Silas was definitely displeased with his sister’s unannounced arrival to Lyncaea. He thinned his eyes a little while making out in his head how long the trip was from Midas. He came to the conclusion that she travelled through the night, which was definitely ill-advised, especially for someone like her. Silas didn’t think she was defenceless, but he assumed that when push came to shove, Athanasia would get pushed over easily.
He couldn’t exactly undo the fact that she was here, and knowing Athanasia, her willingness to travel so far meant that she was two things. Bored at home, and she wanted to spend time with him, which he didn’t blame her for. If he was given some prior message about her coming, this definitely would’ve been more amicable and he wouldn’t have to play the strict older brother.
“I don’t like assuming things, but I’ll clear the air once we head back to Midas, together.” he emphasised the last word. Silas didn’t want Athanasia to travel alone again, so he would send a missive back to Midas of the travel plans for both him and his sister. At least this way, he felt at peace knowing that she would be safely travelling back to the capital with him. God knows already that their mother would have a volley of questions for her, and possibly him as well. Being the older one of the two meant that he had to be ‘responsible’, which he liked to think he was.
“Okay, we can train but I’m warning you, you might not like garrison life.” his angered demeanour vanished and was replaced by a look of mischief.
“Plan for today is we’re heading back to camp first, I have a few routine things to do in the next hour then I’m leading a hunting party.” he told her while mounting his horse again. “Come on.” he patted the lower back of his steed.
Once she was on the horse, Silas rode back for his unit’s garrison and was welcomed by his men, as usual. The way they spoke to him bled brotherly reverence. His birth meant something here, but the bonds with his brothers-in-arms was something beyond his name. Like his older brothers, Silas was a leader.
He dismounted his horse and kept it by a makeshift stable. Silas led Athanasia to his tent, “I’ll… get some extra bedding for you.” he told her, “Carpenter for today will have his work cut out for him.” he snickered a little under his breath.
“Do you want to go around the camp, see how a military unit works?” knowing Athanasia, he didn’t have to ask; he could already feel the brimming agreement.
