The Celian Hill serves as a tranquil residential area where much of the common peasantry live amidst unexpected charm. From a distance, it rises tall and picturesque, its verdant foliage bright against the horizon. Although the homes here are simple in design, built from unassuming rough-hewn stone, this only adds to the quaint scenery as one winds their way up the ascending streets. Many of the dwellings are framed by small gardens where fig and olive trees flourish. The air is thick with the scent of the herbs that grow freely in the patches between the walkways carved into the hill itself, and it is not uncommon to see flocks of starlings in the sky, waiting for their godly messages to be revealed. In fact, the Celian Hill is so beautiful that the elite of the city have chosen it to host their own elegant cemetery, the Hill of Rest.
