All roads lead to Roma, and, certainly, all roads in the city lead to Roma Centrum. This rounded central plaza is impressive in size, surrounded by formal buildings and decorated at its core by an enormous statue in stark white marble that depicts the founding of the city — each day, it is scrubbed clean in reverence for the city's history. From this space, thirteen wide streets extend, as if one to mark each sector of the city, built in attractive stone brick and white marble. It is the busiest place in the city, as each day thousands of people cross the square, either on foot or by chariot, so it is impossible to find a moment of peace here. There is no time to stop and chat with one's friends: this plaza is merely a space between spaces, where one finds themself on the way to their destination, albeit with a chance now to marvel at the eternal beauty of the Urbs Roma.
