At the edge of Sector III lies a sprawling rock quarry, where the earth bears the marks of relentless labouring. The ground, scarred and uneven, is littered with piles of broken stone. Dust swirls in the air, and workers chip away at the bedrock. Dominating the quarry are five immense caves, their gaping mouths cut deep into the limestone face. The caves are wide enough to hold a cart and oxen and serve as more than mere storage: they are the very lifeblood of the quarry, filled with countless deposits of sturdy limestone and rich marble. Each cave is deep and full of winding pathways within which more than one foolish man has been lost and, slowly, each grows ever deeper.
