Prince ,
I was not completely sure how I would go about getting this letter to you. But when Princess Emilia spoke of your frequency in Athenia, I pressed her to give this to you at her earliest convenience. If that is too bold of me, than I understand why you may simply read and discard this letter. Do not feel the need to respond in kind. You have far more important things to worry about than trying to appease my own selfish needs.
Thank you.
I have stared at this page for an hour, trying to decide how best to describe my gratitude for your actions that day of the festival. But each time I start to put my thought onto the page, the words feel inadequate. There is no way to express just how indebted I am to you for saving my sister’s life. You risked your own life, without much thought to the consequences of your actions. It says far more of your character, and it certainly has proven to me that you will no doubt be a wonderful king in your own right.
I have been taught that nothing is more important, more sacred, than your family. Above all else, your loyalty lies with them. As the oldest child, it becomes your duty to protect them from the dangers of childhood. You tell the cautionary tales, you remove the spiders from their rooms and you do what you can to keep them safe. I did my best to be their guardian, to protect them in what has always been a very protective world. But during the festival, you succeeded where I failed. You are the reason that she is alive and well today, and you saved her in a way I never could. I have a soft spot in my heart for Olympia, and I do not know if I would have been able to go on without her in my life. I truly believe you were put in that arena by the Gods to save her life.
From the bottom of my heart, my deepest thanks go with you. Should you ever require anything from Taengea, you will always have the support of the Leventi’s.
May the Gods Bless You in Life,
Selene of Leventi.
