The days and the nights were blending together as she remained in the palace. She had spent the first day alone getting settled into quarters and resting after a night of no sleep. The day after that was when she had met the queen for the first time and since then, she couldn’t keep track. A stolen moment in a dark hallway - quick but gentle and then on with the day. Every night was not for Aikaterine and that was the deal. She was no stranger to sleeping alone since losing her husband. And it was better here. There was no fear of that monster coming into her home in the darkness and taking her when she just wanted to be alone.
There were always hopes for each evening, but she didn’t mean to be let down when Stephanos chose his wife or perhaps just chose to be alone. Aikaterine was already tucked in bed when she heard the soft steps of the messenger. It was barely more than a mouse as the trusted young man came into her quarters. He didn’t even need to speak. There was danger in the way they were sneaking around, but that made it all the more enticing to continue. She wasn’t allowed any of the choices or the demands, not like the queen. There was no room for her to send the request the other way. Instead, she waited patiently for her turn - and here it was.
A thin natural grey chiton covered the majority of her body. The extra fabric swayed behind her as she trailed behind the messenger, though she knew where to find the King’s quarters now. Aikaterine was stealthy in her movements as she was dropped off at the door. The messenger took his post before taking slow steps forward. The wood carefully closed and guarded behind her as she stepped through the darkness into the dull lit room from a dim brazier. The flickers of orange made her usual pale skin appear warm in the night as she moved forward.
She had gotten the impression from the queen that she didn’t want anyone sleeping with the king, but Aikaterine figured that might be the one piece that he would defy her wishes. She didn’t protest, but had been drinking the tea as she had been instructed. It would only make things messy for all of them. A dead give away to the secret meeting in the middle of the night. It was almost an invitation to do this as often as they wanted without the biggest consequence of all. If the queen trusted that Kat wouldn’t sleep with a certain man at court, she wouldn’t have put the command on at all. Or maybe she couldn’t trust the king.
Another step carried her further into the room. Stephanos and she hadn’t talked about much political so far. The only pieces she could put together were what she had heard in passing from everyone else. And she didn’t trust much of the rumors or gossip of the palati. She was still unclear on who she could even trust.
The final strides she took closed the space between not bothering with the bows she had reminded her the first time they had been alone. There was no need for the formality. It was a waste of time when there were only so many minutes in the dark of the night. Her palms pressed on his chest as she greeted him on tip toes to reach his height. Plush, soft lips pressing to his quickly becoming more passionate to make up for the time they had been apart. Her tongue teased towards his mouth hoping for affection in return.

So far, his day had been horrendous. The plans he’d been building were as complete as they would ever be but it was at last time to tell his uncle. If he could avoid meeting the man face to face, he usually did. It took all the self control he could muster not to reach for his sword every time Irakles walked into the room. Being in the palati with him felt like he was lying down with an adder coiled next to him. One move and the snake would strike. The necessity to play the game was exhausting, both to his willpower and to his mental state.
He needed an outlet. To release pent up tension. And with Olympia’s position as precarious as it was, he could not and would not go to her. Not tonight. And not with everything that still lay between them.
A soft knock at the door made him glance up as Kat entered the room. He was leaning against one of the columns that separated his bedroom from the balcony outside. Sheer white curtains were drawn between the archways to create a wall.
A half grin crossed his mouth just before she stepped up to him and pressed her lips to his. One arm slipped around her, pulling her hard against him as he tangled his fingers in her hair. Slowly, he eased them away from the column, nudging her toward the bed without breaking their kiss.
He didn’t want to talk to her right now. Did not want to vent about his day, or hear about hers. What he wanted was her hands undoing the clasps of his chiton. He wanted her beneath him on the bed, sighing into his ear.
Waiting to lightly push her until the back of her knees bumped the bed’s edge, he looked down at her for a moment. She was beautiful, with her hair haloed out and her clothing already coming undone but not quite all the way there. He leaned one knee on the bed and leaned down, kissing her lips, moving down to her chin and along her jaw until he reached the sensitive flesh of her neck.
This was still new enough that he had not yet memorized all her curves but he was close. The way that she responded to his touch and returned it made him want to give her more. He reached down to the hem of her chiton and pulled up until her leg was exposed. From there, he smoothed his hand along her thigh until he cupped her bottom.
“Good day?” he finally asked as he kissed the hollow of her neck. He swirled his tongue and nipped at her as she answered.

Aikaterine wasn’t sure what she was going to meet when she came through the door, but she could only assume that he was stressed. She wished to only relieve him of his day and not be the cause of anymore.
She allowed herself to be corralled where the king wished from near the door to the balcony back to where his large bed with situated. There was no reason to fight his passionate suggestion. Aikaterine had been daydreaming of this all day and hoped that he would call for her. He had awakened something within her that had been dormant until now. It was so unlike her, but it was even stronger the moment that his grin (even a half one) shot in her direction. It made it easy to continue connected to him until she felt the pressure of the bed behind her. There was going to be little time for talking until their primal urges had been taken care of.
She allowed her own digits to pull at the clasps of his chiton to reveal the physique she already knew was hiding beneath. Her palms pressing against his skin and dragging down the fabric until it fell to the floor. The tips of her fingers began tracing along the edges of his muscles, getting to know every inch before she would have to leave the room again. She had already made a mental plan not to compare this experience to her past ever again. It was always going to be better in every shape and form. Instead, her mind was finally completely there for Stephanos.
Her head tilted to the side as his kisses started to wander. A question? Aikaterine was delayed as she found it hard to concentrate the moment his hand hit the flesh of her thigh. It inched upward. She couldn’t help but take a tight breath in due to the anticipation of what he might do. When he settled on grabbing her ass, she was able to reply and perhaps explain why she had been so forward the moment she had come through the door. ”It is good now.” She wouldn’t complain about her job or complain about his wife. The chores she had to do were the least she could do for the protection from Cretheus and opportunity to meet a good husband. Stephanos had enough on his plate, he wasn’t some girl friend to go gossipy to. Kat had never been particularly fond of gossip in the first place.
But, there was one rumor she had heard that she wanted to hear more about. ”Are you leaving, your majesty?” Aikaterine had only heard the bare minimum of information. The king was going somewhere and they were preparing for him to leave. There was no mention of a campaign or danger, just that he was preparing to go somewhere in a few days time. One hand moved up to caress against his cheek and into his thick, blonde hair. A light moan escaping when he nipped at her neck. It was distracting. She was sure that conversation wouldn’t be able to be held, not when he was so focused on teasing her senses.
It was probably better that way anyhow. She wouldn’t be able to trouble her mind with the idea of being alone in the palati unsure of allies. Aikaterine had been doing her job along with following ever order the queen gave her, but what if something bad happened. She couldn’t help that Stephanos leaving was a good idea, but she also didn’t know why he was going - not yet.

He smiled against her chest as she finally managed to answer him that her day was good now that she’d come here. When he’d asked the question, he hadn’t expected anything more than a yes or no response. One thing he was learning about her was that she was obedient to a fault. Putting her into Olympia’s service was the best thing he could have done for all three of them. Not only would Pia have Aikaterine on hand in case she needed anything, but Aikaterine would not cause trouble. She hadn’t ever told him what she and Pia did during the day. And he didn’t ask.
Sliding his hand up higher to her mid back, he half lifted her, shifting them both further onto the bed before reclaiming her lips. When he’d brought her into the palati, he’d not thought to have this kind of arrangement. But he wasn’t sorry for it. They did not know each other enough to form anything close to love. This was for pleasure, alone.
As he unclasped her chiton, his eyes followed the fabric, teasing it down over the swell of her breasts. In the dim light, her skin looked like gold. He moved so that her legs came around his hips but the fabric of her dress was still in the way. After a moment, she asked if he was leaving and he frowned, a little confused before understanding smoothed out his features. But he did not answer her right away.
They did not usually discuss things. Aside from the first day, when he’d let slip in a moment of...mania, he could only assume, the real secret that he and his uncle were vying for the throne, he did not disclose anything else. Matters of the kingdom were left thoroughly outside his rooms. In here, there was only this. Their bodies tangled together, senses overcome with passion, and the fantasy that nothing else existed.
When she asked if he was leaving, that opened up a door he wasn’t ready to tell her about. Instead of answering, he kissed her, occupying her tongue while he fingers slid between her legs. He didn’t stop until he could feel her heart thudding wildly against his chest. If she made any sounds now, he didn’t want words. His aim was to make her shudder against him, to twist and gasp until she forgot what she’d even asked.
She was beautiful. The expressions she made, the way her muscles tensed...he couldn’t imagine someone hurting her. Allowing such a creature to lay inanimate beneath him. He kissed down her neck to her chest, moving aside the fabric of her chiton with a slight turn of his chin to expose her nipple. No. He did not want to talk. He wanted to run his tongue over her breast, down her stomach, until he came to where her dress was bunched at her hips. Rather than remove it, he pushed it up, revealing her completely.
Turning his head, he kissed the inside of her thigh, trailing kisses until his lips met her sex. His tongue darted over her, tasting her. She was slick and hot. He closed his eyes. There truly was nothing outside this room. Nothing but this moment.

No words needed to pass the moment she saw the frown upon his lips. It was obvious she was right. The rumors were true and the reason didn’t even matter. He was leaving the palati to do something that didn’t concern her in the least. She would find out in good time what it was all about. There was no time in letting it dull the moment now. Not the thoughts that this could be the last time his hands pressed on her flesh or that she would see his blue eyes examining her fully by firelight. At least, for right now, she could live blissfully unaware it was danger he was facing in just a few days time.
He buried the question with touches and kisses. His lips felt amazing, burning with each caress. His fingers working magic and distracting her from the prospect completely. Her hips writhed against his hand instinctively begging for more. Moans broke the silence between them. It was the first of of many waves of pleasure at Stephanos direction. Her body shivered as she poured wetness onto his hand. Light gasps for air as her breathing had increased. There was no reach to pleasure him in return as her hands were tied up gripping the sheets tightly.
And then when she would return the favor, he was moving further away from her. His head and body were scaling down her body and out of her reach. It was only when he had begun to attack her thigh with his mouth that she was aware of where he was and what he was attempting to do. This sort of act was outside of the realm of anything she had ever imagined. It was never a conversation she had with her best friend and certainly never anything that her husband would do. Aikaterine attempted to shift away from him as his lips pressed against her sex.
It was the unknown that scared her. She knew deep down that Stephanos wasn’t about to hurt her, but she had never thought in a million years that a man would be bold enough to bury his face there. ”No...Ahh, your majesty… what..” She was attempting to protest. However, there were still no words as he darted his tongue to lap against her. The instant it touched, she could feel all new sensations. The pleasure caused her back to arch and toes to curl. Her fingers twisted and turned against the bed without knowing what to do with herself. Was she just meant to lay there and enjoy the onslaught?
The summer heat paled in comparison to the fire that burned in her body. Light perspiration beading near her hairline. ”Ahhh… “ The squeaks of moans came between rapid breaths. She thought that her heart would leap from her chest as she could feel her whole body tense and release again and again. The tingles from every inch narrowed to her nethers. The king was a generous lover with the experience she didn’t want think of how he came to be so attentive to just the right spots. Soft white thighs rubbed against his head as she kicked and squirmed before finally culminating with a gush of juices once again. The thoughts of how utterly too kind he was to her crossed her mind, just as it had before.
Her fingers still trembled as she pushed to sitting and looking down at him. One corner of her mouth pulled to the side in a satisfied smirk. Aikaterine didn’t expect to bend to his with such urgency, but there she was. Staring dreamily down at the master of the bed. Not in the love sort of way, love wasn’t even in the realm of thought when it came to the king. She clearly understood her place in this situation and merely appreciated him. There were no words, but the look was expectant of orders of how he would like to be pleased. A hand straying to run through his blond hair hoping to catch a glimpse of those deep blue eyes.

He arched an eyebrow and smirked at her as her fingers toyed with his hair. Raising up, he sought out her lips, grinning as he kissed her and teasing his tongue into her mouth exactly like he’d been doing a few seconds ago elsewhere. Sometimes women did not like it. Sometimes they did. And he was interested to see into which of those categories she fit into.
Encouraging her to wrap her legs around his waist, he entered her. For his own release, he rode the high until there was nothing left. They were all hands and tongues and limbs; a tangle of euphoric sensations that left him breathless with his heart pounding once it was over.
Propped up on one elbow, he gazed down at her as he ran his thumb along her lower lip. “Thank the gods you stayed,” he murmured. Sometimes he wondered if Aikaterine was sent by the gods to test his resolve. If so? He’d failed the test spectacularly. And had failed it multiple times. He smiled to himself, knowing that whenever she trained those glass green eyes on him, he’d be powerless to resist.
The way she was looking at him now made him want to have her again. But he settled for kissing her as his hand wandered her body. In the contentment that followed, he was more ready to answer the question she’d asked before.
“You were right,” he said between languid kisses. “I am leaving. But not far. And not more than a day.” Gods he wanted her again. Patient was something he was not. The gods had been most unfair in regards to the differences between men and women where sex was concerned. He knew he could coax her into climaxing again if he tried, while he was consigned to wait for his turn.
“But even when I return, I will not be able to call for you immediately. I have things to see to.” He wasn’t being cryptic because he thought her an agent for his uncle, but women were a known weakness for him. And she could be exploited, willingly or not. “So this is goodbye...just for a few days.”

Considering that she had never had many of these acts performed for her in her life, she had no idea what was coming next. She had always enjoyed the kisses of the king and didn’t know that some women tended to move away. Their faces pressed together and she inhaled her own smell over his face. Her brows twisted, but she allowed him to continue. It wasn’t unfavorable, but also not nearly her favorite entertainment that passed between them. She bent at his will. No sane girl could resist his charms and beyond that, who would want to after experiencing it again and again. It was more than just the blessing. Aikaterine felt cared for and protected for the first time in her entire life.
Even though the next part was for his own pleasure, it wasn’t like when Aktis and Cretheus would take what they wanted. His eyes looked into hers as his hands petted her body adoringly. She was completely included in the process pumping with his rhythm and reaching for more as he released. In was an interaction moment that emanated heat into the already warm summer air of the room.
She chased a peck to his thumb as he ran it by her lush lips. ”Thank the gods you invited me.” She said quietly. It was in return and not meant to be corrective to what he said. But, it was her own point of view. Aikaterine had little power without the help of men in her world. Even where she was supposed to be in charge of her household, Cretheus barged in and made it hard to stand it. Here she had a duty to the queen, a job that she was able to send money back and a connection that Cretheus wouldn’t be able to argue with. But, it was only good so long as they weren’t found out. She didn’t want to think about what would happen then.
Some of the kisses he planted caused a light giggle from tickles to her flesh. She couldn’t help it even as he began to give her the answers she desired. It was only rumors that he was going away. They weren’t detailed and it left her hurtfully curious. When he admitted it was true, she shifted so that her body would be even closer to his. As though the pressure of his skin to hers would fix it all. ”That does not seem like as big of a deal as they were making of it.” A day trip? They had simply spent a day in the woods and surely even a hunt wouldn’t garner so much gossip.
Then he spoke more. Days. She would have to wait days to see him again and wait for him. If he was leaving, he was likely spending the next night alone in planning or with his own wife. She couldn’t fault him for that. He was open that he was loyal to her. They were the King and Queen. She couldn’t expect more or less. He was honest about it. But, the days after. She tried not to be curious. She didn’t need to know, but her green eyes were begging. ”Should I be worried?” Her own hands pressing against his skin when she asked. She knew that he had issues with his uncle. He had given up that information the first day they had met and not exactly spoken of it. It was the avenue by which she was able to trust him enough to spill her own tragedies.
”Are you going to find truth? And take care of your problem?” She spoke no names. But, it was obvious what she was speaking of. There was hope in her voice that at least one of them was accomplishing freedom in the coming days. It only gave her light that it might happen to her as well. If all went well. Aikaterine was supportive, despite the dangers. She knew what it was like to not have support of those around. Her parents did little to help her out of the abuse. They covered it up and acted brainwashed. It was a good match, they would repeat. As though that was supposed to make it all better. Irakles is a good politician and doting uncle… as if those words were supposed to make Stephanos trust him.

“No,” he said, when she asked if she should be worried. Her hands were hot and he could feel the sudden concern as well as see it in her face. The features she still did not mask her emotions but perhaps that was her intent. Maybe she didn’t care if he knew what she was thinking. “Prayers to Ares and Athena wouldn’t hurt. But no. No need to worry.”
It wasn’t a lie, exactly. There was little enough reason to worry her. As long as all went according to plan. It wasn’t full proof but it was as complete as any plan could be. Vangelis and Nike would be with him. Plus Achilleas and Emilios, all of whom were experienced and tested in war. Even Irakles, IF the old man actually used his knowledge, would be an asset. Though, he was inclined to think that his uncle was one of the weak points.
Still. It was better that the old man come with him, rather than leaving him in the palati to do further damage in his absence. If he left Irakles behind, who knew if there would be a throne to come back to? Or a wife and child, for that matter. His paranoia for Pia’s safety had been growing, as of late. It was partially why he wanted her to stay in her rooms and only be attended by people they knew and trusted.
As he thought these things, he’d lain down on the bed beside her and was now staring up at the ceiling. He was cold from the perspiration that coated their bodies but it made him feel alive. Something he definitely wanted to remain.
When she asked if he was going to fight the Creed, even in veiled terms, he side eyed her and smirked. “You need a better spy network if you’re going to survive in the palati, Aikaterine. Or perhaps you already have one? What have your sources told you?”
In his world, everyone spied on everyone. He had servants watching Irakles and assumed the old man was doing the same. His wife, he knew full well, had her own people watching him and he returned the favor. More than those two, every single noble’s servants watched the whole of the royal family’s movements. It was important to stay up to date on the court gossip. To know who so and so spoke to on a day to day basis. Or when so and so were fighting. And then exploit it.
This was simply politics. And he knew no other way of living. But Aikaterine was from an out of the way province. If she did not adapt, she would be used and eaten alive. He reached out and ran the backs of his fingers down her cheek. “Pretty, innocent, Kat,” he smiled.

There was a curt nod. Aikaterine could easily find the time to pray to the gods he had wished to watch over his plan. She wanted, no, she needed him to come back. He was the linchpin in her world right now. And more than that, each moment they spent together her reasoning was balancing out. On that first day, she would have easily told anyone it was nothing. It was blind passion and a blessing pulling her into the spider’s web. She was powerless to deny the King of Taengea what he wanted. She would have feared saying that a pang in her stomach proved that she wanted it too. She might have even lied and said to was all about selling the horses and all about getting away from Cretheus.
But, not right now as she lay in the bed. Some of that had changed. There was more than just the veil of protection that caused her to daydream about him. More than the appearance of those endless sapphire eyes. More than the muscular body that was held against her. An appreciation and slight affection that came with the acceptance he offered.
”Spies, your majesty?” She questioned. A short and innocent response. A genuine expression of puzzlement. There was no such need back at her own home. And perhaps it left her vulnerable to others in the palati. However, she had also been lucky in that regard. No one had approached her. Their secret was safe so far and there was no one who knew where she lay at that moment, except for the trusted guard at the door who retrieved her. On the other hand, they all knew she was a lady to her majesty now. Yet, she had still been left alone. She liked it that way.
There was a fear the hit her and Stephanos pausing to state the obvious. There was nothing ambitious about Lady Aikaterine of Meganea. She generally was content doing what everyone around her told her to do. She was taught growing up that the best attribute a woman could hold was obedience. And she followed it. Challenging of this point of view was only a recent discovery. A breaking point where the abuse had gotten too bad and where she had started to take life into her own hands. But, the idea that she should have spies and should know more. She shook her head.
”I only eavesdropped some. And that was by accident.” She admitted how she had heard what she had. Someone doing laundry, she thought. At the water basin. Aikaterine had not been checking up on him and she hadn’t been going out of her way, but she didn’t mind when the conversation allowed for her to listen in on.
At least he was smiling, though it contradicted what he had said before. ”Your face says one thing and your words say another.” She couldn’t be sure if being sweet and innocent was going to be a good thing… or leave her to be devoured by the wolves of court. Her finger stretched and poked between each of his ribs testing to see if he was ticklish as she also put forward a point. ”You are my corruption.” She grinned. Attempting to leave the talk of the mystery campaign to rest. He had said not to worry and she would try not to. ”Were you ever innocent?” She finished as she asked him about himself. Maybe being born with siblings set one up to be in a rivalry from birth. As an only child, Kat has always been able to be blissfully alone and without competition.

When she mentioned that she’d only been eavesdropping, she looked remorseful and a little guilty. Like she shouldn’t have been doing it at all. He turned over onto his stomach and pressed against her so that their faces were only inches apart. With a finger, he traced her lips and smiled down at her, finding the thought of someone feeling guilty for overhearing valuable information funny.
“Shh...shh...you listen to whatever you can. It’s what people do in the palati.” he asked, kissing her lips, still grinning like this was all a game. “Otherwise you’ll end up used by someone. Whether you mean to be or not.” Pulling back, he tapped the end of her nose lightly. “You are so innocent, Kat. Guard yourself from the wolves that prowl these halls.”
The wolves he referred to were his friends, mostly. And himself, if one stepped back to consider their own arrangement. But he was unrepentant about his part in the affair. He hadn’t forced her. They’d barely known each other two hours before she was beneath him, moaning into his ear. He’d never thought of it until now but there was never a woman he could not have for the asking. He did not have the trouble other men did.
”Your face says one thing and your words say another,” she said, to which he merely continued to smile and search her eyes. They were pretty. It wasn’t that he hadn’t ever seen green eyes before but hers were clear and warm. It was like looking into the depths of water with the sun shining on the surface. He liked to imagine that inside, she was guileless. Completely open and unreserved. Untainted.
”You are my corruption.”
He drew back with a quick laugh. “Are you a witch? Do you read thoughts too?” Just one look at her would prove her correct. She was stretched out, completely naked, still half entangled with him, and for all the things she seemed to feel guilty about, this didn’t look like it was one of them. She didn’t curl into a little ball once it was all over or play demure and shy. She remained as they had been, letting his hands slide over her however he liked.
And then she asked if he was ever innocent. The smile widened into a mischievous grin. “Never.” And then, because he was sure that answer would not satisfy her, he elaborated. “I gave my nurse such trouble, that my father threatened me with a whip. He said that if I was going to act like a wild animal, he would give the nursemaid permission to treat me like a horse that needed broken.”
The smile he wore faded just a little and he smoothed his hand over the swell of her breast, looking there, rather than meeting her gaze. It was strange to talk about his father like that. The memory had been buried deep. He hadn’t thought of it in years.
“What possessed you to abandon your innocence? Or part of it, at least?” he asked, turning the conversation back around.

“What possessed you to abandon your innocence? Or part of it, at least?” he asked, turning the conversation back around.
She accepted the kisses eagerly while trying to reply to him. ”Mm. As you..mm.. wish.” She responded like she always did. Aikaterine had never bothered to spy before, but if it was what everyone else was doing, what was the harm? It wasn’t like jumping off a bridge. This was how they all survived. Or that was what Stephanos had said. He would know. He grew up in this environment of constantly needing to know what the other people were up to. Though, she wasn’t entirely sure that she wanted to know what the others were all up to. ”Wolves. Got it.” Her lips curved into a smirk as though she was taking it seriously. Real wolves in the hallway was a ridiculous picture in her head. Though, she really did know and finished her response with a nod.
”I don’t think there is such a thing as an innocent witch.” Her nose scrunched as she shook her head. Reading minds would make life much easier. It would answer all the questions she had ever wondered about life and love and all that was between. She’d be able to fix her problems and most definitely fix Stephanos’ problems with Irakles. Just one listen into that man’s mind and the heinousness would be revealed.
Though, as innocent as she was, she didn’t shy away from his touch. The first night she had quickly covered herself when the time came to just talking between them. She had been self conscious of her body. No matter how beautiful he might have said it was, she was no longer some sixteen year old ingenue. Her body had been through five pregnancies, four to full term - though her stretch marks were minor. But, she knew about them. They should have been a badge of honor. She was a healthy woman and bore healthy children.
Aikaterine might have guessed that might be his answer. She hadn’t been devoid of some stories in the cliffs. They had always spoke highly of their king and the prince that was going to take over. And then there was the prince that was a playboy. Perhaps, it was true. But, she liked to think that he was determined to be more. ”An analogy that fits even now. A bold stallion.” Horses were easy. He was like that new stallion in charge of a herd. He was biting and forcing some of the older ones into submission and they weren’t so easy to take it. They would have to. He was King.
”Are you fishing for compliments, your majesty?” Her jaw dropped as she looked straight at him when he had asked why she was where she was. Aikaterine could barely believe how she managed it all. She had never been so quick to bed a man. Actually, never. She had been her husbands on her wedding day. Boring, simple, and expected. A few years later Cretheus came after her. That was it. That was all she knew. Until now.
The bright blue eyes that examined her as though they truly appreciated her. The impressive stares that were entrancing to her. Aikaterine pushed up off the bed to kiss at his temple near his eye. ”Those blue eyes for a tempting start.” The lady moved to kiss his lips, nothing too big. Just a quick peck. ”Gentle lips that beg for attention.” He also acted like he wanted it, like he needed it. Like he was actually having a good time with her. It only gave her the confidence to continue. She curled and kissed his bicep. ”Strong arms to carry me… and protect me.” She winked as though she was saying… and drop me. But, that joke was overdone.
Her finger paused a moment on her lip. Those green eyes looking him from head to toe, admiring each inch of the king as she looked deep in thought. ”I’m not sure if there is anything else… “ It bounced some as she pushed at his hip to turn over. When he moved, her eyes were given a whole different side of his body to inspect for reasons to be less than innocent. And if he had asked for what came next, she would have likely revolted. Her only experience prior was forced on the part of her brother in law. Though, there was a part of her that wanted to do it for Stephanos. To hear him moan and see if she could please him. How different it could be when it was under different circumstances.
She leaned over him and placed the final kiss upon his member. A hand circled the shaft as she was sure that she didn’t have to say words anymore. She wasn’t brave enough to say the word out loud and she couldn’t make her. At least he was getting the pleasure of her warm mouth all around.

Fishing for compliments? He grinned and rolled his eyes. No. He hadn’t been fishing for them but he wasn’t at all opposed to hearing them as she listed out the reasons that she’d abandoned any sort of moral compass whatsoever. She kissed his temple and he turned his head to follow her as she moved into a kneeling position. When he did, he kissed his lips but moved away again. He did not follow and instead lay back down, resting his chin on his arm.
Her body brushed him as she bent to kiss his bicep, talking about him carrying her and the way she winked, he knew she was thinking about being dropped. He would never live that down. Luckily, only the two of them knew about it, and, if it came down to it, he’d take her back to that creek and drop here there on purpose. The thought made him grin up at her as she sat back, musing to herself that she wasn’t sure there was anything else that might have been her reasons.
This was easily their least ‘serious’ encounter. Prior to this, there hadn’t been much, if any talking, except for the first time. Now, she seemed far more confident and all of his tension was gone for the present. When she tapped on his hip, he turned over without any thought as to why. He watched her eyes glide down his body and pillowed his hands behind his head when she shifted nearer to him.
He opened his mouth to say something at the same time as she leaned down. His eyebrows shot up as she ran her tongue along the length of his member. Of all people who would have done something like this, he hadn’t expected it of her. It was by no means unwelcome, but so wholly unexpected that for a few seconds, he did nothing but stare down at her.
Once the initial surprise passed, he pressed his lips together and looked back up at the ceiling. If she wanted to do it? There was no way he was going to stop her. Her mouth was too warm and wet for him to ever consider such a thing as to ensure she was alright with it. If she wasn’t? She wouldn’t have done it on her own.
After a moment, he stretched out his arms on either side, focusing on nothing but the sensations of what she was doing. At one point, her tongue slid over him just right and he sucked in a sharp breath. He reached down, tangling his fingers in her hair, wanting simultaneously to keep her right where she was, but also wanting to kiss her. Since he could not do both, he closed his eyes and let her continue the way she was going.

Stephanos had spent so much time and effort pleasing her senses, it was only right to return the favor for all that he had done. And she had started to enjoy the sound of his moans, so maybe it was more for herself and her own confidence. There was freedom in her motion as she licked the shaft up and down. Aikaterine didn’t mind the task so much when she didn’t have her knees on a cold hard surface and forced again and again until her eyes were teary. This was different. She could be doting as she paused to kiss and work again adding a hand. She diligently worked as she was encouraged by his girth and gasps.
And all was going well, until his hand pressed against her hair. As his fingers tangled into her hair, Kat felt a sharp memory crashed to the front of her mind at the worst possible moment. She released from her task and sat up. Her thin fingers wrapped around his wrist and pulled it out off of her. "No...I can't if... " She couldn't find the words to put together the right way as she was willing to continue for his pleasure - but with stipulations. Her green eyes big as she watched for whether or not he could handle that demand. He knew the basics of her past, but they had never discussed all of the terrible acts Cretheus had forced her into.
She sucked in another breath as she stroked her hand against him one last time and abandoned the idea altogether. Aikaterine didn’t want it to turn dark and she didn’t want to leave. His expression was different than what her past expected. She looked up from her position between his legs she knew he didn’t mean to make her afraid. He hadn’t set out to hurt her. He was kind. But, with her eyes closed and pressed against his cock, it felt the same. It was a nightmare that she wasn’t sure if she would ever escape. Though, her interactions with Stephanos were helping. It was obvious as the freedom and courage she showed during the horserace was beginning to reveal itself in the bedroom.
With her hand wrapped around his wrist still, she crawled herself up some as she lined up with him. Aikaterine forced his arm to the bed staring to his blue eyes. The eyes that always offered her the reassurance and the confidence to be someone new. The lady paused for a moment with the tip at her entrance, this she could do. She had never been put in this position before - but the want took over as she pushed down on top of him. Before she had been comfortable beneath him and rolling under his control on their sides, sitting, standing, but to ride on top with all the control.
Her breasts bounced as she let his hand go to stabilize herself and hold him down attempting to insist that she would do the work. Hands pressed against his chest as she rode up and down with all the ecstasy it had to offer. She would go as long as she needed, like riding in the race until she had it won. Her thighs were strong and her body was fit, even if she was twenty-nine.
Culminating when they could both enjoy a grand ending together as she collapsed against his chest and allowed to still be puzzled together. Enjoying the closeness as long as he would allow. Long brown hair scattered around mostly soft despite the perspiration from the exercise. Aikaterine was positively glowing with a light smile curved on to her push lips.
The smile softened further as she parted to speak into the darkness. ”I’m sorry… I …” She apologized in a whisper about ending the first act she had offered. The words remnants of her insecurities despite what they had accomplished afterward. ”Should I go?” She wasn’t the queen. She didn’t get all the luxuries and freedoms that came with remaining next to him all night, but she did hope they could lay together for a little longer… even if it was just to be silently intertwined.

He looked down at her as she grabbed his wrist and pulled away, half intrigued for a moment as to what she thought she was going to do. Her eyes were wide and round; afraid. And in almost the same instant, her features rearranged themselves into a firm sort of resolution mingled with a contrite apology. There were so many emotions crossing her face at once that he sat up and frowned at her in confusion.
"No...I can't if... " she began but left the sentence hanging. He was about to ask what was the matter but then remembered what little she’d shared before. Obviously hair pulling was out. Suddenly he was a little wary of touching her in case he set her off again. Before he could tell her that perhaps now would be a good time to stop completely, she seemed as though she wanted to continue. But then abandoned the idea entirely.
“It’s fine,” he sighed, ready to let her go back to her rooms. She still had a hold of his wrist and did not seem inclined to let go. His expression softened and all at once she moved up so that they were face to face, easing him back down as she did so. Truthfully he didn’t know what to expect from her now; whether she would agree that it was time to stop or if she would explain more?
Her body slid against his as she moved to straddle him. She kept a hand on his chest, silently telling him to stay down. Holding up his hands in mock surrender, he then pillowed them back behind his head to avoid touching her. Again she’d managed to peak his curiosity to see what she was going to do. Because it was obvious now that she didn’t want to stop completely.
He kept his face impassive as she shifted herself against him. While this position might have been new for her, it didn’t show. His initial response was to place his hands on her butt to ease her down but she didn’t seem to need or want it. Her mouth had felt great but this felt better. Especially as she began to work her hips. The neutral expression disappeared as his eyes wandered her body. And after a minute, he did grab her ass.
This round took a little longer for the two of them than the first but it was more powerful. His heart beat hard enough that it almost hurt and now it felt like she really had pulled everything from him in a magnificent torment that culminated in euphoric bliss. When she collapsed onto his chest, he breathed out and stared at the ceiling as he put his arms under his head again the way he’d done before when she’d wanted him not to touch her.
For a second, he couldn’t even define what she was apologizing for but then he said, “Stop” and shook his head against her apology. “You more than made up for it.” He wasn’t about to tell her that he’d almost sent her away because it seemed as though that’s what she would have preferred. Thankfully he’d been mistaken in that assumption and she’d been smart not to stop and beg forgiveness in the middle of all that.
He didn’t like constant apologizing. There was a weakness about it. And more than that, it reminded him of Olympia. Whenever she apologized, there was a twinge inside his chest; a twinge of what he would not admit to be guilt. There were few things he enjoyed less than feeling guilty. The feeling was starting to try and take root now. He forced it away and moved his hand to stroke the soft skin of Kat’s back, though he stayed away from her hair this time.
“You can’t stay all night,” he quietly, looking down at her once she asked if she should leave. “You’ll be missed. But it’s hardly past midnight.”

She almost apologized again… for apologizing. However, she headed his warning and bit her lip instead. Aikaterine hated to upset him. He had shown her far too much kindness and opened her eyes to another part of the world. A better part of the world where men were able to create a warmth inside, an ecstasy that she never knew possible. She had been locked away in a cage of torture and finally free. In this moment, she could pretend like Cretheus had no power over her, not when she could be here.
The lady held a cheek to his chest to listen to his heart, which had been beating faster than a hummingbird's wings to slow as he caught himself. She didn’t argue as she just stayed quiet. She couldn’t stay all night. Kat knew that as the truth, but it was the first time she had felt a moment where she was jealous. A moment where she had wished she could remain in the protection of his arms for the night and into the next day like they had the first time. This was not one of those nights. So, she finally nodded rubbing her cheek against his skin accepting her role.
It’s hardly past midnight. Did that mean that she could at least relish in the moment a little while longer? Extend the time from when he had put his fingers into her hair and against her head. He wouldn’t accept the apology, but she also didn’t feel like right now was the time to go into more of her past. That wasn’t his problem and it would never need to be. Not if could slowly acclimate her away from her nightmares. He could show her that a grip on her hair didn’t always mean that she would be pulled across the floor and pressed against a wall.
”What is your favorite color… and food?” She questioned. It might have been strange, but it was the little details that she found herself wanting to know. Aikaterine knew very little about politics and certainly wanted to place her mind on something light. If she couldn’t see him for days, she would have to manage something different to remind him she thought of him. That most certainly involved getting to know the young King. She didn’t have many allies in the palati quite yet, but she wondered if a little kindness would allow her a way to come up with a gift to leave behind. Course, that could also be deemed dangerously playing with revealing their secrets.
Aikaterine pulled herself from the puzzle as the sweat between them was wearing against her. She slid to his side and fit herself next to him cuddling for as long as he would allow her. The hot air of summer was not her favorite, but it was a part of life in Taengea. But, she made herself as comfortable as possible to prod more information from him regarding what he delighted in. Was it a dessert? A snack? Or maybe the perfect wine...
