Mihail had never made any secret of the fact that he was happy to take men to his bed as well as women. Perhaps that was simply because he did not take so many to his bed as others did, or maybe it was because he saw no reason why it should be kept a secret because who would be discovering such a thing with how heavily guarded he kept all his personal matters? There was certainly nothing he saw reason to keep from his sisters - his brother, yes, explaining things to Dysius was far more tedious and came with the possibility of trouble, but the other three had far more of his trust. If they were to find out it was not just women he courted, then so be it. They would hardly be telling anyone.
Today was one of those rare days when he found himself in the company of a lover. It was almost a sad thought, but Mihail struggled to recall the last time he'd had the opportunity to spend such intimate time alone with another. Many may not have believed it but the amount of effort it took in order to plan his gossips and rumours accordingly was not minimal: there was careful thought that went into each and every word of it. He would be damned if he ever let out an unprepared whisper. This was a pretty boy, one that he'd seen a few times in the past when visiting the shops and, admittedly, there had been times when he'd gone shopping solely for the purpose of seeing him. Tryphon, his name was, and oh, what a lovely name that was. And what a joy it had been when Mihail had come to realise that this boy too was interested in men and that all his slight flirtations had not been for nought.
Tryphon had snuck his way into the Thanasi home late that night at Mihail's request, where his host had met him and brought him back up to his own bedchambers. He'd stripped him down to nothing and Tryphon had stripped him down to nothing, kissing him deeply and hungrily - gods, it had been so long since he'd last managed to get his hands on someone like this - and pushing him down so that they could, at long last, make the love that he'd been waiting far too long for. And they had, for a long time, until they'd finally fallen asleep in each other's arms and not even awoken when morning had started to shine into the room.

It was an odd feeling, to feel so at peace with life after so long Evras had spent being in perpetual turmoil with her own feelings and emotions. Ever since Zanon and her had made up just two days ago, Evras had been wearing a very contented smile for once, something that she was quite sure had to do with how she's spent the past two nights going to bed in her husband's arms. They've still got plenty of problems to work through, that Evras was not blind to, but for the first time, the both of them were willing to work on it together, and that was in itself a step in the right direction.
So when she arrived at the Thanasi household that morning, Evras walked with a light step. Eschewing her carriage, Evras had arrived with only two guards at her back. She waved a hand to direct both guards to remain at the foyer, before taking the steps up to the main family quarters. Her chiton was a simple white one overlaid with a peach, thinner gauze-like one over the top. Her dark hair was sleek, left to hang loose around her shoulders, and Evras walked barefooted up the marbled steps. Her features looked lighthearted, eyes glimmered with a faint appreciation in life now as she made her way up.
Making her way in the home she had grown up with was easy. While Evras had wanted to look for Nethis (for her sister was sure to want to know what was going on with her and her husband, as she always does), her first destination was to her brother. Knowing Mihail he was likely abed still, and Evras did enjoy pulling him out of bed kicking and whining sometimes.
At his door, the dark haired maiden pressed an ear to the door, and upon hearing naught but silent breaths, pushed the door open silently to prevent any creaks. With the curtains still half drawn, the shadows it casted only showed bodies laying in her brother's bed.
Creeping barefooted, Evras made her way to the curtains, and with no warning, yanked it wide open, causing the sunlight to fully flood the room as she turned with a bright smile and a cheery voice, "Good morning bro- ah!" her bright greeting was cut off when her blue-green eyes caught sight of the fact that they were not entirely alone, and Evras finally realized that her brother had someone else abed with him.
And that other person wasn't even a woman. Evras was not blind as to think that her brother had been a chaste person ever since he grew to be of age...but she had never thought Mihail would be abed with a man.
Instinctively, her hands shot up to cover her eyes, shrinking back as she backed away until she hit the wall. "I'm sorry!"

There was no doubt that Mihail was a later sleeper than most of his siblings but, quite honestly, he had never seen issue with that. He had little to do most days: what did it matter if he was not up at the first cry of dawn? As such, he had never particularly cared for his sister's irritating habit of breaking into his room during the early hours of the morning and forcing him to awaken before he felt ready. Of course, this had become a much less common practice recently, which, although it did mean he could relax without worrying about a rude interruption to his sleeping pattern, also meant that he had, unfortunately, let his guard down, and his door remained unattended that morning.
When Evras had stepped into the room, he had still been dreaming, still wrapped around the previous night's lover, the other's head lying on his bare chest. He was only awoken by her sudden shout of surprise, almost unable to grasp the current situation in his half-asleep state, staring at her through long eyelashes for a few seconds until Tryphon rolled over slightly in his sleep and grunted and he suddenly came to the realisation that he was lying in bed naked with his arms around another man in front of his sister. Not that he considered Evras to be some sort of prude - obviously Mihail knew better - but she was his sister! Oh, what he would give to trade places with Tryphon right then and there and only feel as though he'd been caught by some stranger rather than one of the few people he actually cared for in the world.
"Shit, Evras, what are you doing in here?" he stuttered, his voice awkwardly high-pitched as he shuffled backwards and attempted to cover his naked form, reaching over to grab his own discarded chiton from the night before and pulling it over himself. It wasn't much but it was the best he could do at such short notice and, at the very least, it did the trick. Mihail did not need Evras seeing any more of him than was absolutely necessary. "This is Tryphon, he's...he was just going." Pushing the other boy to the edge of the bed, he gave him a look asking him to leave but which also implied he was absolutely welcome to return the following night if he wished to.
Gods, this was embarrassing. Mihail had no idea what he was supposed to be saying. He had no idea how to handle this situation, especially given how spontaneously it had come about. Waiting for Tryphon to exit the room before he said anything further, he said the first thing that came to mind, nodding out the bedroom door after the boy. "He's just a friend." Whether that would be believed or not...well. The only thing he could hope was that Evras would not be sharing this particular piece of information with their eldest sister or, worse still, their brother. "Nothing...nothing else."

Her whole body was tensed as her brother slowly came to realization on the situation they were currently in. Common sense told her to get out of the room until Mihail and whoever it was in his bed could get properly dressed, yet for some reason, Evras found herself rooted to the spot, unable to move at all. Evras was no prude, the woman was a married one with an eleven year old son after all - but it did not negate the fact that this was her brother! And never had she imagined he would find pleasure with a man abed, for that matter.
She was no stranger to the fact that many found pleasure with those of their gender, and while she did not partake in such pleasures herself, Evras found it hard to wrap her head around the fact that two people with similar equipment could take part in a sexual act meant to reproduce.
Mihail's high pitched stutter merely made Evras wave her hand wildly around, her eyes still squeezed tightly shut. "I'm sure it's nice to meet you Tryphon, but perhaps we shall get to know each other under different circumstances." she muttered in a tight tone, her hands returning to cover her eyes again. Evras could hear the scuffling and scrambling of the two males, but she was absolutely not opening her eyes again until the coast was clear.
Hearing Mihail's words and his tone much calmer now, she bit her bottom lip in uncertainty, and tentatively let one eye flicker open. That one blue-green iris checked the rest of the room, ensuring that the coast was clear, and only then did Evras finally breathe a sigh of relief, letting both hands drop to her sides as her shoulders sagged. "A friend?" she murmured, raising a wry brow. She was no young prude - she could recognize intimacy when she saw it.
Taking a deep breathe and a gulp, Evras cleared her throat. There was no two ways about it - the situation was as awkward as they come, but they would have to do something about it, somehow. "A friend that you're... extremely close to? Cause I'm not sure I've shared beds with my... friends." Well, not that Evras has had plenty of friends - her position and the rumors limited her friends in Colchis, really.
Raising a brow at Mihail, Evras took a few steps closer, question brimming in her eyes. "Does Nethis know?"

Raising a brow at Mihail, Evras took a few steps closer, question brimming in her eyes. "Does Nethis know?"
"Not that close. We only met recently." There had been a lot of highly important stalking of the boy before they had actually managed to formally meet. He slid his legs underneath him to shift into a more comfortable position, biting his lip as he tried to avoid direct eye contact with her, still awkward from recent events. "I saw him for the first time the other day...shopping. I had to." That should have been enough explanation for his sister. She would understand how he'd felt, hopefully. And it was easy too. There were so many who were easily seduced by the sheer fact that he was from one of the royal houses "You...you saw him."
Nethis? Of course, Nethis didn't know! If there was one person Mihail didn't want knowing that he was keen on boys as well, it was his eldest sister. He knew she had plans for him and this was liable to cause her some trouble - he did not want her ideas altered simply because she had heard such a rumour about him. "She doesn't. I don't believe she does." You could never be sure of the gossip spread by the servants. They knew far more than most, and Nethis usually knew everything. "Are you going to tell her?" Gods, he hoped she wouldn't. Not even Thea knew about this.
It wasn't that he was frightened what the woman would say: in reality, he was almost positive that she wouldn't think there to be anything wrong with his sexual preference. It may not have seemed it to the outside world but most of the Thanasis were a lot more forgiving within their inner circle or, rather, it certainly seemed to be the case for Mihail but then, perhaps he was simply babied by his sisters and had never known anything else from them. Nonetheless, he did not need news of his sexual exploits spreading through the household and, eventually, through the rest of Colchis. That would not do him well.
Still unsure what exactly to say, wanting to ask Evras to take a seat but not exactly sure where he should ask her to do so - somehow no surface seemed so safe - Mihail sat through the silence for a few moments, staring up at the ceiling as he searched for the right words to reassure his sister further. There was only one mildly helpful thing he could think to say at that moment. "I do like women."

He had to.
How many times had Evras heard that? Then again, it wasn't as if she had much of an argument herself. Look what had happened to her the last time she had decided to throw caution to the wind and follow her feelings - pregnant and married, that was what. While the King of Colchis had not agreed to the wedding at first, Zanon had been insistent, and with a looming threat of an illegitimate grandchild imminent, King Tython had eventually gave in. The marriage had been a whirldwind, but the events of the night before had given Evras some sort of hope that she wouldn't have to live the rest of her life in misery anyway.
And thus, Evras sighed, levelling Mihail a wry look. Why yes, she had indeed 'saw' him. If you could count blocking her view as much as she could so she could ignore the fact that her younger brother had likely just slept with the young man, and was stark naked under his sheets.
Of course Nethis didn't know. She doubted their eldest sister would agree with Mihail's ways - god knows how many wrenches that would throw in their eldest sister's plans. Evras had no plans on telling Nethis either, but that didn't mean she could lie if she was asked. Shaking her head, Evras sighed and perched on a kline that was situated nearby, her mind now entirely distracted from what she had initially came to speak to Mihail about. This was a whole new revelation she had to wrap her head around. His brother's final comment had her raising a brow, as if asking him a silent 'really? that helps matters so much', sarcasm dripping from her one look.
"Have you... been with many women? Compared to... well, men, I suppose. Do you... have a preference?" her words were halting, as if Evras wasn't entirely sure how to place the syllables. It was obvious that she felt entirely awkward in this situation, and her posture showed. "It's not that I... oppose to this, that is, Mihail." Evras quickly tried to reassure, eyes flashing to her younger brother with a look to ensure he wasn't feeling hurt by her obvious uncertainty in handling such situations. "It's just... Well... You can give me some time to wrap my... head around this, can you brother?"

The reassurance that Nethis would not be finding out about Mihail’s sexual preferences was all he needed. He could not imagine having to explain this all over again, and especially not to someone as judgemental as she who would do nothing more than see how it fit in all of her plots and schemes for the family. Mihail did not want his love life broadcast out there for the whole of Colchis to see simply because it would benefit the family. It was the sort of information he'd keep about another for his own nefarious purposes and would never wish to expose about himself.
"Thank you," he answered as she took a seat, admittedly glad that she appeared to be getting over the situation at least somewhat. In the back of his mind there had been a pulsing concern that this would end up looming over the pair of them for weeks to come and, with Evras out of the house more often than not, he did not want her further gone. The more he could do to clear the air between the two of them, the more he would. "I-I suppose I'll tell her in my own time. When I'm ready. When I was going to tell you." Unless, of course, Nethis somehow already knew, which Mihail would never put past her. "I didn't expect you to find this out like this."
This was not a conversation Mihail had ever envisioned himself having with any of his sisters, and the awkwardness in his expression was evident as he gently pushed some stray strands of hair out of his eyes and behind his ear, forcing himself to look at his sister. “A fair amount. Nothing...nothing unreasonable.” How many women did Evras expect him to have been with? He wasn’t that old. He liked to imagine he was in a quite regular position with his number of relationships and brief dalliances. As to what he preferred, he couldn't exactly be sure - he'd always thought he liked both equally - but he had an idea. "Men...men are easier, I think. But I've never thought I cared." Did he care?
"It's...it's complicated, I understand." Except, Mihail didn't exactly think it was all that difficult to understand, he liked men and women, what did it matter? It shouldn't have been all that hard for his sister to understand the concept. Nonetheless, he could see her concerns and nodded at the suggestion. "If you need the time to process it."

Still with a blank space in her mind, trying to process the situation, Evras couldn't help blurting out "Well, I didn't expect to find this out like this either, that's for sure." before holding her tongue. She stared at Mihail for a moment, before sighing, hoping her brother didn't get the wrong idea. It wasn't as if Evras was against the idea by any means, gender or no gender, her brother could do whatever he wanted, so long as he kept himself alive and happy.
But... well, this wasn't exactly a common situation.
Biting her lip as the conversation progressed to an even odder state, she averted her eyes, unwilling to even imagine what dalliances Mihail has had. Nethis had been unabashed at asking Evras of her own dalliances with Zanon back when she had been younger. Evras however, was not cut of the same cloth apparently, and found such conversations mildly distasteful. She herself preferred to keep her private life as it was, private. Only her siblings were privy to the undercurrents with her husband, and even then she did not tell much, only enough for them to know why she came back to the Thanasi mansion so often.
Looking up at Mihail again, Evras finally sighed, and stood up. She strolled over to her younger brother, hesitating for a moment before finally using her hands to ruffle his messed up dark curls, as she always did. "It isn't complicated. I just... need to rememebr you're not very little any longer." for just a moment, the brief hint of laughter flashed in her irises, before she took a step back. "Now get up and get sorted. I have news for you." a joyful smile, one that Evras had not shown in years since Zanon had forsaken her appeared on her lips, before she pivoted on her heels to sashay outside, intending on waiting outside Mihail's room till he summoned her back in again.

"No...I gather." Mihail watched her for a moment, noting the way she had sighed and the way she was looking at him, attempting to read his sister's feelings. Was she as relaxed with the situation as she was acting? He had never been the most excellent judge of emotions. Nonetheless, he could not help but try and work her out, and, as she looked away, there was a moment of panic within him, unsure as to whether or not the woman would have anything further to say on the matter.
Evras seemed hesitant at first, but then, eventually, she moved towards him, hand moving in a motion that he knew all too well, scruffing up his hair in the way that she knew he hated but he never had the strength to complain about. Her words and actions were a reassurance to him, and he was unable to resist cracking a slight smile. "Exactly, I'm twenty-four now. You needn't treat me as some sort of child any longer, Evras. I can make my own decisions nowadays." Something his sisters did need to start understanding, though he didn't entirely mind it all too much when they attempted to baby him, only when they appeared to think him unable to think for himself.
She let him be a moment - one that Mihail was thankful for since he had barely had the chance to do anything more than awkwardly cover himself up when he had shooed Tryphon out. He took the opportunity to move from the bed, changing into an outfit which hadn't been so obviously worn the night before, and cleaning himself up somewhat, smoothing down his hair before he returned to the door of his bedroom and peered out to where his sister was waiting. "I'm sorry. You can come in now. Let me...let me find you a seat." Not that his bed was altogether that acceptable to sit on just yet, but he still gestured across the room for Evras to take a seat. News from the Kotas home was always appreciated, although Mihail doubted it was going to be anything particularly juicy that he would be able to use. "What have you to tell me?"

She did not have to wait for long - her brother was, luckily, not one of those who took too long to get dressed when it came to informal meets like this. While she knew Mihail to be one who took pride in his appearance, and ensures he looks good be it in his dressing or otherwise, Evras had been one of the few who had watched the twenty-four year old grow up. There was little situations in which Evras had not seen Mihail in, so whether he dressed well or not mattered little to his sister.
Entering once he admitted her, she hid a laugh at his apology - Evras found it adorable, how flustered her younger brother was. How could she ever think of him as anything but? It took constant reminders to herself to remember that the boy she had watched play in the gardens of their childhood home was now twenty four, fully capable of making relations and decisions. It was her innate desire to protect, as she did with Dion.
Still, she had to admit his point.
Taking a seat in the direction in which Mihail had gestured in, she arranged her chitons so Evras could tuck her feet beneath, and then grinned at her brother, the kind of smile she had not wore in years ever since her husband had forsaken her. The past two nights she had spent in his arms had returned much of the color and sparkle in her bright eyes, and she grinned as she allowed Mihail to take a seat himself, before leaning on the side table she was next to.
Her ruby red lips betrayed the excitable mood Evras was in, and it did not take long for the words to spill out of her lips. "Zanon and I had an argument the... other night. I... made some silly decisions." she started, flinching as she remembered the harsh way he had handled her. While her husband had apologized, and Evras knew he meant every word, her memory was a strong one, and she worked hard to not let the effect still show. "But he... well, we apologized. And he..." she flushed, her trailing off more then clear to signify what she meant. "That is, you should come visit, Mihail. I promise it isn't a battleground any longer there."

As Evras began to tell him all about her most recent encounters with her husband, Mihail had been all too prepared to chastise the man. It wasn't any secret how much he disliked the man's family and, hence, the man himself. It didn't exactly help matters that Evras and Zanon did not have the best of relationships, and he did not tend to care for anyone who was even the slightest bit cruel to his sister. If she was upset, then death fall upon any who had dared harm her. Mihail would have been entirely willing to go into battle against the man if it weren't for his inherent cowardice and the sheer fact that he would be hugely unlikely to win.
"And what?" Mihail questioned, interrupting her slightly, although he knew exactly what she meant. You could never really be sure when it came to Evras and Zanon's relationship. At times it almost seemed as though the pair of them were starting to get on better terms and then, as ever, things would inevitably fall apart. Anytime his sister told him anything about her husband; he didn't think he could trust a word, especially when she had started by bringing up an argument they were having. And to claim that she was the one making foolish decisions! Please, no Thanasi could never do anything without carefully thinking it through first, and they were not the sort to be silly. "Am I required to step in?"
It had been a joking comment intended to lighten up the conversation somewhat, and he was quiet again when she began to speak once more, an eyebrow half raised as she claimed that they had finally made up. It was difficult to believe and, were it not for the fact that Mihail was sure none of his sisters would ever lie to him, he would never have thought she was telling the truth. "You apologised? The both of you are alright now?" It was a difficult concept to accept. "I am glad, I suppose. I want nothing but the best for you, Evras. And Dion, of course." Though he would never admit it, but Mihail was far more concerned for his sister than his nephew. So long as Evras was safe, he could be surer of Dion's safety, but it would never matter so much to him. "As for visiting, I doubt I shall be eager to visit, despite your reconciliation. The last I visited, I had a...less than pleasant run-in with one of your guards - he escorted me to find your chambers, but I cannot lie and say I enjoyed his company." And, as Evras had learned that day, Mihail tended to enjoy the company of men more than the usual. "Besides, I don't like the way they look at me there simply because I am of your blood. It is not my fault that I was born better than a Kotas. However, if you do prefer it, I suppose I can make an effort. Solely for you."

The Thanasi siblings had always managed to rally around each other regardless of what happened. But Mihail was even more so. Her brother had the notion and belief that their family could do no wrong, a belief that while Evras was brought up to stand behind, her long periods of living in the Kotas family residence had always introduced a whole different dimension to her judgments. Lately, Evras has found herself thinking more on her actions, and those of her family, before blindly following it. As the youngest of the girls, and somewhat of a tool for connection, she was even more careful with what she told Mihail and Nethis. Thea she confided in, but her mysterious second sister was often in absentia. She did not lie to her siblings, but her love for her husband prevented her from doing any action that may harm him.
Evras laughed, nodding at the way Mihail echoed what she had just said. Obviously, her brother found it hard to believe, and the fair-skinned female did not fault him. Zanon and herself had spent the last three years at loggerheads with each other - for reasons that were just revealed to the girl a fair few days ago during their explosive argument. She herself had almost given up on ever reconciling with her husband after watching him tup plenty of woman in Midas.
It would explain why Evras now felt like she was walking on air.
Listening to Mihail's reasoning, Evras cocked her head, curious as to which guard Mihail referred to. There were plenty within the Kotas residence, especially for a military family who prided themselves on security. It was even tighter when Dion was in residence, for it seemed his grandparents doted on their current only grandson. Then again, Mihail had always had the tendency of overexaggerating. "We have plenty of guards, Mihail. I doubt you'd be meeting the same one again."
She laughed when her brother referred to their status is better than a Kotas, shaking her head wryly. Evras was used to Mihail's proclamations by now and patted his hand. "You come when you miss me, alright? And Dion. Zanon... has disallowed Dion coming here any longer. Dion's to start his military training soon." She would not deny that she was worried - was it not a mother's duty to worry over their children's wellbeing? But she saw Zanon's reasoning. Besides, Evras would rather Dion learned to defend himself, and now was a great time to start as any. "Father will miss Dion being around."
Her words were punctuated by a yawn, one that the woman quickly apologized for once it has passed, an amused smile crossing her lips. "Sorry, I may not have gotten much sleep over the past few nights." her words were accompanied with a cheeky smile. Evras flicked her eyes towards the doors, and then back to Mihail with a question "Should I tell Nethis?" For a moment, uncertainty crossed her features. The one secret she had kept, was that despite quite literally falling in love with Zanon, it was Nethis which had encouraged Evras to go for him in the first place. She had mentioned the fact to Mihail before, and she knew their eldest sister clung to her marriage to the royal family as her playing card... yet sometimes, Evras couldn't help but feel like she was but a mere chess piece to the bigger political game both her sister and younger brother played.

"I don't care to risk it," Mihail replied with a pout. He was sure there were plenty of other guards in the household, and he really wouldn't be finding himself face to face with that particular one again but, well, stubbornness prevented him from accepting that possibility on the chance that he might be wrong. If he was going to be putting all his ideals aside to visit his sister, then he didn't exactly want to be insulted by someone who worked there. "I shall be in a very fragile state if I do come visit - I'd practically be in enemy territory - and I wouldn't want to be attacked when I'm such an easy target." Surely Evras would understand the logic behind that, would she not?
What did Evras mean that his nephew wasn't allowed to come visiting any longer? Dion was a Thanasi, perhaps not by family name but by every other factor, and Mihail didn't think that Zanon needed to be so eager about forcing the child into military training so early on in his life. It was nothing more than a ploy to turn him fully Kotas. "He is at least half Thanasi, he should be permitted to visit his family whenever he wills!" he exclaimed in frustration, noticeably annoyed and willing to complain to his sister about it, even if it was to no avail. He knew that his beliefs and arguments would not change his brother-in-law's mind, but there was no reason not to try and let himself be heard. "It's not just Father. I too will miss him. He's my nephew! I can't go the rest of my life without seeing him. Besides, without ever being allowed to visit, how is Dion supposed to remember his roots? He has Thanasi looks and a Thanasi name. He is not one of them, and I shan't let him be brainwashed into believing such things. In fact, the only reason I'd visit - aside from my love for you, of course - is to ensure he is having a proper education, and nothing so forceful as his father's wishes."
The yawn and expression on his sister's face, coupled with her words, left little to the imagination. It wasn't exactly an image Mihail wanted in his head but, given what Evras had just had the misfortune to walk into, he could bear with it. "Nethis? I doubt you'd be able to keep that information from her anyhow." He glanced away thoughtfully, trying to decide just what the right decision was here. It was always difficult trying to decide what things they should share and exactly when they should share them. "I mean, she has a vested interest in your relationship with Zanon but...I do not know whether you would wish to share such private matters straight away. Perhaps you should wait to see where this goes - or rather, if it continues to go well - before you say anything." It would be no good to have their eldest sister meddling before Evras could be sure things were going well.

The dramaization of his last visit had Evras rolling her eyes, and the elder one chose to ignore his points, and instead merely looked at Mihail with part amusement, part agreement as the younger one ranted about his nephew's visitation rights being revoked by his own father. While Evras may not entirely agree with Zanon's decision just yet, she would wait to broach the subject that allowed Dion to visit the Thanasi manor. Her father was old now, and with the years catching up to Dynosius, her father would rarely make the trek to Kotas territory jus to see his nepew, as much as the old man would want to. Besides, Evras doubted that Nethis would allow him in his state.
"I'll speak to Zan on this, do not fret so brother. I do tell him of the Thanasi family tree, and there will be no such thing as brainwashing, Mihail." her last few syllables were slightly firmer then usual, having had enough of notions such as brainwashing and curses, spells and whatnot. It was that exact idea that had led to her estrangement from her husband over the years, and Evras was too eager to nip this bud before it grew. "His education will be cared for - I will be around, Mihail. But I don't think he will oppose to you coming around more often of course."
Worrying on her lip once they got to the topic of their elder sister, there was no question that while Evras did adore her elder siblings, Nethis was an imposing figure to all. The way in which her eldest sister commanded attention was awe-inspiring, something Evras doubted she'd ever be able to do. What Mihail said was true - there no doubt Nethis would find out soon, especially when Zanon and herself attended the markets in Midas tomorrow when it was due to signal the reopening of the harbors.
Listening to her brother's words, she allowed them to simmer in her head, seeing the wisdom in Mihail's logic. Considering their reconciliation was fresh still, and that the both of them had plenty to work through before they could truly call themselves fully amended, Evras was not keen to tell everyone just yet. Mihail she would share, for she knew of her brother's loyalty. Nethis however, while caring for her sister's wellbeing, would also find a way to use the mending relationship to her advantage, something she was sure Zanon would be none too happy with should he find out.
That would be the first mistake she makes, but she would find that out much later.
"You do have such wisdom, little brother." Evras said for now, grinning as she leaned over to ruffle his hair again, before moving to stand up. "Would you be attending the opening of the harbor tomorrow? The Kotas family has summoned us all, so I do not have a choice. Dion would be around - perhaps you could catch him there, and steal him away for a little." Evras suggested with a wink, twining her hands behind her back as she took a few steps towards the door. "I should get going though, if I want to catch Dion before he heads out for another day of archery lessons. He's getting good - he may even best you soon."

"I doubt speaking to Zanon will be of much use," Mihail objected, still adamantly refusing to trust his sister's husband despite being older and wiser now and knowing full well that his sister had made up with the man. After all the ways he had hurt her in the past, he wasn't exactly sure whether he wanted to give his brother-in-law the benefit of the doubt just yet. Quite honestly, he was not one to forgive easily, and he couldn't be sure when his mood towards the man would change - there was always the possibility that something could go unexpectedly wrong soon. In his opinion, it was still best to be prepared for the worst.
He didn't exactly think that just informing the child of his maternal family tree was enough to ensure he was as dedicated to his Thanasi side as he would be to Kotas when so obviously surrounded by such strong figures as his paternal uncles. However, it was rare that Evras used such a tone with him, and Mihail was not so stupid as to continue arguing the matter. "Well, he likes me, doesn't he?" he queried, half worried that his nephew might somehow forget him entirely if he were unable to visit. He had far more uncles on his father's side than his mother's: it seemed all too easy for them to be overshadowed. "He does mention me, does he not?"
You know, Mihail agreed that he had quite some wisdom that was, more often than not, unappreciated. He was not generally the sibling the others came to for advice and, even though Evras's hand had somehow found its way into his hair once again, he was glad to hear the words leave her mouth. "I am not so stupid as people assume me. Words other than gossip do leave my mouth." Although, lately, Mihail had not had much opportunity for gossiping and, urgh, it was draining his spirit so.
The harbour opening. He had not wanted to go, but if his sister so dearly seemed to desire his presence, he supposed he could think about it, excellent brother that he was. "I don't...I don't like the water. The ocean. The harbour. It's too big." She knew that, she knew he couldn't swim, she knew it frightened him. This didn't involve swimming, of course it didn't, but those nerves would never vanish so long as he was near the water. Mihail could attempt a visit to the harbour, but was it between that or visiting the Kotas home; he would much rather the latter. "But I promise I'll make an effort to visit soon, especially if Dion wishes to compete with his uncle. I might have to give him some lessons of my own."
