Sanasa had been in need of some new clothing and jewelry. It felt like ages since she had freshened up her look and maybe even tried out a new hairstyle. Not that any of her current stuff was bad by any stretch of the imagination - but she needed something more… head turning. She didn’t much like the thoughts of heading to some of the merchants with her mother as she couldn’t stand the heckling. If Sanasa heard one more time that her attitude was the reason she was still unwed she was going to lose her cool.
That certainly wouldn’t be good.
Normally, her second choice as a shopping partner would be Hebe. Some might be surprised by the eldest preferring her significantly younger sibling as accompaniment but Hebe, albeit annoying, was a great person to look at some of the best options and pick out what was worth purchasing. She could even sometimes think of things that Sanasa may not have even considered - not that she would ever admit it. It was never long that she was gone, but the 2 weeks per month she spent as lady-in-waiting to Princess Emilia sometimes felt like it was an eternity.
Going on her own without someone trustworthy for opinions didn’t sound like fun to Sanasa, because there was never any guarantee she would even bump into someone she knew there and have an unexpected companion. That, and of course she was wanting someone to talk to - she did thrive off of people and conversation, after all. A trip in solitude aside from odd small talk with vendors was not something of appeal.
Marietta was ever elusive, and clearly off doing her own thing somewhere else. Sanasa found herself seeking out Evi who was nose deep in a book, but was willing to accompany her older sister out as she apparently was looking for some new things, as well. Sanasa wasn’t sure if that was entirely true but she found herself grateful that her younger sibling wanted to accompany her.
The trip was uneventful, and the fresh air and glorious warm day was something that couldn’t stop Sanasa from smiling. Arriving at this spot always gave Sanasa a familiar thrill, and she had to remind herself to contain her excitement and not become too giddy. Looking at Evi, she could see that she was also soaking in the sun. Hopefully she was genuinely grateful for a break from the books and wasn’t actually inconvenienced by this.
It was a lot more quiet than usual today, not that there were ever huge hoards of people here to have to try and push through to get things she wanted in the first place. She found that it was pleasant to take an already leisurely pace and relax it even more. She always worried she would linger a little bit too long looking at things and inconvenience other shoppers.
“Shall we?” Sanasa asked, walking toward her first vendor of interest after something had caught her eye. However, it didn’t end up being for herself. She found herself pointing at some things, and looking at Evi, “Those would look quite stunning on you and really bring out your eyes. Do you like them? I haven’t seen you with anything like this, so I don’t think you have anything similar already?” Not that it would even matter if they had similar items in multiple different colour tones or types of gems. Variety is always a great thing to have.
This was certainly turning out to be a wonderful day.
