Having been granted by the physician to allow her light movement, Evras had taken it upon herself to visit the moment she could, and ever since Zanon had told her Essa had taken up residence with them temporarily, Evras figured she may as well find the young Drakos lady after her nooning meal. Afterall, she had had quite enough of the four walls of her chambers, and could bet on finding Essa either in the gardens or in the library.
So through the nervous questioning of her slaves (they knew the rage Zanon would rain down upon them if anything were to happen to Evras, even if she promised them she would be careful), Evras had chosen her forest green chiton, one of the loosest she's got, and eschewed the belt to allow the material loose. She's only got a slight bump at four months going on five, but with the warnings, Evras wanted to put no pressure on her abdomen.
Pinned up on each shoulder with a silver fibulae the shape of a bear's paw, the sheer material of the green chiton flowed down to her elbows, it's ends kissing her ankles even as she put on her white sandals, and revelled in the fact that she could now walk much longer then five minutes, as she made her way down the hallway towards the libraries.
While the Kotas household was not extensively huge for a royal family, it was no doubt bigger then any other house of a Colchian noble, and Evras enjoyed every step she took. She would never take for granted the freedom to have a walk again, and enjoyed the sounds of a bustling household.
Her walk with Zanon the evening before had been one that proved greatly useful for Evras to catch up with all that as happening in the kingdom whilst she had been on bedrest, but she was eager to hear it from Essa's point of view. Afterall, it was a universally known fact that men were far less perceptive then their fairer gender, and Evras was quite sure Essa would be able to tell her far more. So she took a chance that afternoon as she poked her head through the library, and then called out on a hope that her young cousin was there. "Essa?"

Essa had been delighted when the physician granted the Princess some more freedoms. She knew how much her cousin longed to leave the four walls of her bedchamber, and she was happy for her to have a chance to do so. But she couldn’t deny a selfish part of herself who feared being sent home, unneeded as a result. In truth, she probably should have done so regardless, but... she couldn’t bring herself to entirely give up the peace she had found here. Especially when things were still so uncertain at home.
The return of her father had turned everything upside down. As much as Essa wanted to help hold her family together... she knew the strain of spending the entirety of her time in a place of such tension would wear her down quickly. Her mother was hardly herself and Imeeya was insistent on pretending nothing had changed. That simply none of it was real. Both were acting out in ways that Essa wasn’t used to. She knew she would cling to them if she were home, desperate to help them feel better, and in the end it would only mean their tempers were unleashed upon her.
Physical space was best for them all. She could make do with frequent visits to check on them while still remaining with her cousins.
So today she was taking respite in one of her favorite places. The Kotas library. It was a sacred place to the young bookworm, forever eager to devour all the stories she could get her hands upon. It was what brought her the most joy in the world, and now more than ever she needed that in every ounce of spare time she could find. She was the sort who liked to carry a scroll or story with her everywhere she went in the hopes of a spare moment or ten, but there was a certain peace that came from remaining within a library to read.
She was deeply engrossed in a new thrilling romance when she heard a soft voice call out to her. “Hmm?” she called back, eyes rapidly trying to finish the section she was on before she was interupted, more out of habit than anything. She was used to her mother and sister who had little patience. It was only when she finally looked up from the words before her that she realized just who had sought her out. “Evras!” she exclaimed, her soft voice by no means dampening the excitement in the greeting. Placing the text aside, she stood to her feet, closing the distance between her cousin and herself with a gentle embrace, careful not to put any pressure upon the Princess’s stomach in the process.
“It’s so good to see you up and about again,” she said warmly as she pulled back to look at the woman. Another thought crossed her mind and worry settled over the features of her face. “Oh, I’m sorry, did you need me? I should have stayed closer in case... I never want to cause you any trouble...”

While Evras had never been someone who greatly sought out the presence and company of another, and had generally been quite fine with being around just her family and loved ones, this prolonged self imposed prison in her own chambers was making her rethink her previous stance on life. She had never been more delighted to have visitors, and was surprised to find out how eager she was to find out from someone how things had been like during her own imposed bedrest. From someone who actually was paying attention.
Not that her husband wasn't, they just paid attention to the wrong things.
Smiling when Essa recognized who she was, the princess gladly returned the young girl's embrace. While Essa was technically Zanon's cousin, the young girl had greatly endeared herself to Evras during her growth and was a great playmate for Dion as he grew up.
"It feels good to be up and about again. I feel as if I would grow roots very soon." she mused with a smile, quickly shaking her head when Essa started fussing. "No no, I didn't 'need you specifically, Dion was entertaining plenty. You would never cause me trouble, sweetie." the dark-haired princess murmured indulgently, ruffling the younger Drakos's hair before venturing further in to take a peek at the text Essa had dropped in a hurry when she came in. It was funny, how curious she was over everything, now that she actually had a chance to go out.
"I did wanted to ask you on how things have been though. I feel so horribly out of touch with everything now that I've been out of court sessions for close to a month plus now. And you know how terribly 'observant' Zanon can be." she ended with a tone that was a good mix of sarcasm and amusement. It was no secret her husband was busy, and far too wrapped up in official business to gossip, and that was all Evras was looking for at the moment.
Turning her gaze to Essa, her smile held just a hint of cheekiness as she waved a finger at the young Drakos, the princess herself taking a seat on the chaise in a corner. "Mind updating me on what has been going on? Not politics, please. Zanon has bored me enough."
