Daxos understood the young lord's apprehension and nodded, taking a seat across from the young lord. He poured himself another drink. He took a small drink and looked intently at the man-child.
He did his best to look at his face, to decipher what he was thinking, but to no avail. He had heard some people had a knack for it, but Daxos was not one of those people. The young lord was almost an enigma for the soldier, how could one who grew up in such a powerful and wealthy family go off the deep end and cause this house arrest? He supposed whatever he did, it would have normally guaranteed a death sentence.
"You have a lot more than four walls in this manor, " he stated nonchalantly, "But I do understand what you mean. It is not fun when you're stuck somewhere with nothing to do. Though, " he took a good look at the young lord, "You could start working out. Might even tire you out enough to sleep." Daxos nodded to himself, proud of this suggestion. Silanos did not look healthy and the man needed sleep. The soldier knew that when he could not sleep, he would often tire himself out by doing the same.
Taking a sip from his cup before continuing, "I suppose he thinks he knows best. He is our Baron first, your brother second. His responsibilities entail all of Eubocris and to the new King. You must realize how much weight is on his shoulders?"
Daxos laughed at the young lord's question, "Of course. I will be right outside your door all night. I will periodically check up on you as per dictated by the Baron." Daxos finished his cup grabbing it and waiting on the young lord to finish his own before grabbing it, "And you can be damn well sure that if you escape again, I will hunt you down and bring you back here. I will make sure he knows you escaped a second time." Daxos frowned lightly, "I hope you don't take it personally. I am a soldier and I intend to do my job correctly. I hope you understand."
The soldier noticed the tired look on the young lord's face, "If you wish, I will leave you to your slumber? The day has been taxing for both of us I'm sure."

Silanos didn’t much bother to hide what he thought from the soldier. He didn’t really much bother to hide what he thought from anyone most of the time, though the Lord could lie when he needed to. He looked at Daxos with a weary expression as the man made a comment regarding the mansion he was being held prisoner in. Sil wasnt about to apologise for the different lots they had drawn in life, why would he? Tempted to point out that perhaps it depended on what one was used to, he swallowed the comment with another mouthful of wine, reminding himself that the soldier had brought it, which was something in his favour he supposed.
There was a snorted “No thank you” at the soldier’s suggestion that he might start working out, and a sharp. “ I sleep just fine”. He wondered what Daxos had been told to suggest otherwise, or if he was just making assumptions based on the slip the lord had made in the taverna.
In truth, Sil was lucky that youth was a kind friend in mitigating the signs of his troubles, but even with that, his eyes looked bruised and he was pale despite the kiss of the sun. Sallow almost. It was not as if Daxos was making great assumptions, despite his charge’s ill humour on the subject.
Ill humour that lingered as the manmoved on to speak of Timaeus, and the younger Valaoritis raised a brow at Daxos. “Well at least he has a fan in you” he said dryly. “I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that you don’t want to be stuck a grunt all your days. I’m sure it’s all Tim’s winning personality” Urgh. He should shut up before he talked himself into more trouble. With his ribs aching and his mood soured by the headache that was pressing viciously against his eyeballs, Silanos drained the cup of wine quickly, looked balefully at Daxos as the man stood and reclaimed it, leaving him with a warning about any further jaunts he might have had planned.
“I’m sure” he replied, not bothering to stand as Daxos made to leave. He had hoped the soldier would leave the wine and he could drink himself to sleep, but it seemed the Gods would not be so kind. There was a thin smile at the taxing day comment, and Sil watched the soldier depart -hardly very fucking far- before letting his head fall back onto the klimtos with a heavy sigh. Life was about to get a whole lot more troublesome, he could tell.
