The newly appointed Regent and future King of Taengea Lord Irakles has wasted no time in securing his position of power within the Taengean ruling class. He has assigned street-callers, announcers and gossip-mongers to spread the word amongst the capitol that the previous king og the kingdom has been accused and found guilty of treason. His actions in murdering his father and brother are not being shouted from rooftops but, far more cleverly, told to passersby on street corners, murmured in taverns and generally spread like disease throughout the city streets. Now, having secured a general dislike and distrust for the disgraced ruler, a town spokesmen stands in the central plateia of Taengea calling the news to a people already prepped to receive the damning words with trusting ears...

It was one thing to be able to claim the title of ex Master Informer to the Taengean kingdom: to hold the power, prestige, loyalty or bribing or blackmail opportunities of many sets of eyes and ears around the capitol and expanding provinces beyond. Fotios was perhaps the most informed man in all of Taengea - if not Greece. His impressive network and infallible memory ensured that he knew just about everything there was to know about everyone of significance or note.
The one failing in the web of informants he held? They were focused on securing information regarding particular people, Houses or purposes. They were not the kind of information gatherers that would be able to seek, feel and reiterate in the written or verbal word the feeling of the general people. For that, there was no greater tool than simply taking a wander through the central plateia or the agora on market day. In this area of the city, if you were dressed plainly enough and allowed no guards or manservant with you and walked in a way that suggested you help nothing of wealth or import... you could practically absorb the general opinion of the populace.
And while the universal opinion of the common peerage was of absolutely no use to Fotios in terms of political gain - for the general public had no say in how the kingdom or run, nor even how they lived their own lives to a certain extent - what was important to remember was that human beings were social creatures. Whilst the common peerage might hold zero political sway, those who were important to the governmental running of the kingdom could easily feel and mimic the feelings of those they brushed shoulders with every time they stepped outside their doors - even without realising it. As such, it was important to keep an ear to the ground when it came to the commonfolk of Taengea. If Fotios wanted to know how and when a lord or lady would act, it was never foolish to assess just exactly what kinds of rumour and gossip they would be filing away in their subconscious with every trip to the market.
Meandering through the crowds, Fotios was glad to see, as the speakers that Irakles had hired to officially announce the fled King’s guilt of regicide, that many of the local gossips of the capitol were standing in the open square, turning their attention to the man who stepped up upon a wooden box of a podium and called out for attention from the general people...

Curveball Legacy of Blood
The following is announced by the street caller -
"It is with a heavy heart that I bear the following message from the royal family... That Stephanos of Mikaelidas has been accused and found guilt of treason! Proven beyond doubt to have sought the death of his father the late King Zenon I and his brother Crown Prince Zacharias, it has been determined by the Heads of the Royal Houses of Taengea that King Stephanos is to be discounted from royal succession and charged with the punishment of death for his guilt...
A royal proclamation and bounty is to be issued for the return of Stephanos of Mikaelidas, who has fled from justice.
People of Vasiliadon, raise your spirits and your hearts to the new King - who steps in to fill the void and guide us in our most trying of times. Prince Regent Irakles of Mikaelidas, brother to our beloved King Zenon, has agreed to take the mantle of King. Hail to the new king of Taengea. Hail to King Irakles!"
