Unlike the Naos of the Gods she had visited in Athenia during her month stay in the capitol, the small altar built in respect to the goddess Athena and Poseidon was far smaller, and nowhere near as grand. It was but a mishmash of stones stacked together, and a likeness of Athena carved from a smith in training. There were cracks, mistakes, and uncertainties clear to the naked eye, but to the people of Arcana, it worked. A coastal town reliant on the blessings of Poseidon to have abundance in the sea for their source of income, the people of Arcana would stop by every morning with prayers and offerings, and in return, the province flourished under the Xanthos family rule.
As a result, the people of Arcana generally enjoyed the rule of the Xanthos family. While they, like Demi, were not excessively loyal by any means, the people have seen the kindness of the princess (Queen, now? Demi wasn't sure, which was ironic considering the amount of people in the house of her lover at this point.) and did not see a need for change. Similarly, Demi had simple wishes, and only wished for things to return back to normal, and she did not have to visit the house Hector shared with his daughters everyday, wondering if he'd even be home.
With her hands clasped in front of her, Demi had placed pine and a flask of wine she had procured for Athena, and a bowl of sea salt and some fish to the God of the Sea's. Unlike men who could offer horses or animals, Demi's meagre earnings as a pleasure worker did not offer her those allowances - but she offered what she could when she came by on her weekly visits.
Usually, the woman would pray for good weather, and the health of her loved ones. A good weather brought in customers, and it built up her wealth. She did not wish to continue working in her line of job for the rest of her life, but at the moment Demi had little choice. She was loathe to be entirely reliant on Hector (even if she thought he would want such a thing), but with her upbringing, her job was as best as it could bring her.
Yet today, she had more.
She wanted peace and a return to the normal where she second guessed everything that was going on. While many sought power, Demi found power and excessive gain of gold to be poison, and was disgusted at the way men seem to grow greedy, the more of them they had. The brunette had no love for those and simply wanted a simple life. She prayed for peace to visit the girls, the kind she' believed Ariadne especially would need, thrust in turmoil after what had occured.
Once she finished her prayers, she'd go to visit the first of her clients for the day. As always, Demi would visit Hector's house again tonight, althought of late, she hesitated. The amount of people in the house terrified her, especially when she had never been one to have to deal with those of such rank before. But what was worst was that it took her now, just a few days ago, to realize who exactly the man who had bought her for a week in the capitol was after accidentally eavesdropping on a conversation on Elias of Stravos when she had been in the house the other night.
And she didn't think it'd be a good thing at all.
