Dear Persephone,
I think that your people would be lucky to have you returned to them as their leader. Although I do not know you well, you have shown to me a grace and wisdom that are well suited to leadership. Were you a man, I doubt that there would be any such concern with your suitability to rule.
The word here is that Athenia sent ships to aid in the war effort, but no men. It is widely considered that this is Athenia abandoning their duty to send aid in the case that another Greek kingdom should go to war. I suspect this is not the news you would wish to hear, as I fear that Athenia’s reputation has been sullied by these actions.
I hope that what wisdom and counsel I can provide is helpful to you. I know for certain that you must not know my mother, as she does not often consider my ideas very sensible. But I suspect that this is not the best topic to discuss in a letter.
Your wishes and prayers are greatly appreciated. I pray the gods protect you and your sister.
Sincerely,
Lady Imeeya of Drakos
