Maleos,
All I can do is apologize for not coming to the docks to bid you farewell. In all truth, I must confess to still being a member of the fairer sex. I found myself overcome with emotion the morning that the ships set sail. I told my brother I was indisposed and he did not question the reasons why, thankfully. I hope you do not think less of me for crying.
I am a coward as well for not penning a letter sooner. I can only pray to the gods that this reaches you in Taengea or follows your route to Egypt.
Daily I pray to the gods for your safety, as well as that of our King, our Prince, and all others who go with you.
Know that sincerely meant my feelings for you at the Temple of Ares. To say I care for you is far too mild of a phrase, but again, I am a coward when it comes to addressing feelings directly. It is a flaw that has become more than apparent to me in recent days.
I feel so guilty for not going to see you off and I beg your forgiveness. It would have been embarrassing for myself and everyone else there.
I plan to write you and I hope you plan to write to me as well. I will tell you everything that happens here in Colchis, both exciting and dull, just so you can have a sense of home. If you wish for anything as well, simply ask. I will ensure that I always have enough ink to write you.
Stay safe. I, too, look forward to seeing you once again.
Sincerely,
Leto
