Vangelis gave no fleeting glances to the Thanasi boy as he moved before the regiments, yielding not a moment to Mihail's pandering or egotistical strutting over his abilities with a bow and arrow. Instead, he simply played the fear upon the man. Better the man crap himself now than in the face of the enemy once they were on the Egyptian sands.
What he got as a reaction was exactly what he had expected - for none of the Thanasi males, barring their patriarch, had any sense of courage - and he simply turned to face the man as he babbled on the spot over his fears of death and limited opportunity for showmanship. It passed through Vangelis' mind that if the man did not want his ego taken advantage of so, then he had only to shut his mouth when claiming his impressive skills.
"You will find me difficult to threaten, Lord Thanasi." He stated simply, his eyes cold and his expression unbending. "Least of all with the leverage of your sisters."
Glancing to the captain upon his left, Vangelis nodded towards the Megaris unit.
"You are to report to Captain Attias of the Megaris Hounds."
And with that, refusing to permit the gawping young man to challenge or argue the point, Vangelis simply navigated himself around the Thanasi lord and left him where he stood, intent on coordinating the rest of his forces and refusing to change his military policies for any. Least of all, a Thanasi.
