Narmer had always been over-anxious, but when it came to things he wasn't even close to knowing what he had to do, it came out even worst. The younger brother to Narutt H'Haikaddad constantly wondered how much better things would be if his brother was around, always assuming Narutt would know what to do. Whether or not that was true was something Narmer would never find out, but like it or not, he now held the responsibility - a responsibility that was slowly going up in flames, if he didn't do something about it.
When the missive came to inform that the Pharoah was questioning and auditing the finances to every Hei, Narmer almost jumped out of his skin. His first response had been to call upon Zoser for help of course, especially when Narmer clearly had money with no clear source he was spending. How was he to explain where it was coming from? Especially in light of such situations. Sure, Zoser's suggestion was workable for sure, but Narmer was desperate really, at this point.
For that to work however, he first had to find out where and how, and when and why exactly was the Phraoh looking into the monetary situations and account books of every Hei in Egypt. In hopes that once he found out more about the situation, he had requested for an audience with the Dowager Queen herself. Technically, it would make more sense if he had asked for the Pharoah, but Iahotep's temper was vastly known, and after how angered he had gotten at the dinner hosted at the Haikaddad saraaya, Narmer didn't want to risk it.
He had tried in getting information, and even tried to get an audience with the Dowager Queen and even the Queen herself, but with the state of the kingdom right now, Narmer found himself caught up in preparations for war at the same time. With his position both as Head of Hei and as General, he has had to juggle between two tasks until he finally decided he would have a sit down with Kissan to make sure his nephew would know how to handle what was to be done whilst he was gone on the war.
But for that to work, he first needed money. Everything they've had previously had been spent on repair works, and Narmer couldn't leave his nephew with a destitute saraaya and Hei. So instead, he had tried to find the next best solution - seek out the Hei Isazari. His brother has had good relations with them, but ever since Narutt's death, his sister-in-law had not done well in upkeeping that relationship, and truth be told, neither had he. Too caught upin ensuring the Hei remained afloat, this would be the first time in months since he had visited the saraaya. He had met Berenike last, but this time he had hopes of seeing the Head of Hei himself, to disucss monetary terms with his own Hei.
Dressed in his courtly garb of gold and tawny colors, Narmer nervously adjusted the neck collar once more, before ascending the stairway to annouce to a waiting servant on his intention to visit with the Head of the Isazari Hei, hoping he was in.
