It's November ladies and gents! And while some people will be becoming a little less active on their rp forums in order to spend time putting together their 50,000 words of a novel, we here at Aeipathy also want to offer a special award to those who keep their activity with us high. As such, you've all been automatically entered into our Aeipathy NaNoWriMo competition! Here's how it works...
The Contest
From 00:00 on the 1st of November to 23:59 on the 30th November, all words that are written on Aeipathy in character will count towards your Aeipathy NaNo total. This can be in the IC boards or our AU board, but they must be in character. The aim is to hit the 50,000 word marker for NaNo, here on Aeipathy.
The Rules
-- All words must be in IC. Either in location boards or AU. Coding words such as those inside the [] brackets, will not count.
-- Please note that the way the contest will be measured is simply from a member of the staff team copying the post in question from the main thread page, into a google docs. The number of words Google says there are is the number of words there are. This way everyone is measured on the same scale and system. No arguments. If you are getting to the end of the month and want to check your own count, then please use this same method to double check your numbers.
-- If apps are accepted during this month, the words in the app do not count. This is solely based on posts.
-- Deleted posts do not count towards your total. But archived posts do. So, even if a thread is archived, it will count towards the NaNo target, provided it is not deleted from the site. We the staff team cannot count what isn't there.
-- Ghost-written posts done for characters that are not your permanent characters do count towards your total.
-- The contest is per member, not per character. So, you do not have to make each of your characters hit 50,000 words, just write that yourself across your character accounts.
-- Most importantly, please note that any unnecessarily long posts full of gibberish or posts that are fired off at such speed that they aren't properly thought through (basically just truly poor rping for the sake of number boosting) will result in your instant disqualification from the contest. RP is fun and this is supposed to be a nice and friendly add on to that. Let's not ruin things by making one cause the other to suffer... <3
The Prizes
The prizes for this years NaNo are Member Awards for your character accounts and bragging rights. Your award icons will feature on all of your character accounts for all to see.
Here are the awards and what you need to do to achieve them:
Here are some tips on how to aid in your working towards the NaNoWriMo total of 50,000 creative words.
-- Don't leave all your posting to the last minute. You'll be surprised how much you can write if you keep yourself posting regularly and steadily throughout the month.
-- Reply quickly. Speedy replies to other members keeps their (and your) muse high. Which means you're more likely to get a reply back quickly too, which gives you something new to write back to, giving you another opportunity to boost your numbers.
-- Stretch yourself as a writer. If you're a writer who is always creating posts of about 300 words, aim for 400 with each post. If you're someone who normally writes 1,000 words per post, aim for 1,200.... pushing yourself to that little extra stretch will have the little additions make big gains when all tallied up.
-- Don't over stretch yourself with too many threads but make sure you have enough to keep you busy. If you know you have the time to write in more threads, seek more plots from others in the plotting channels on Discord, or the House chats in your DMs. Reach out for more stories. People will be looking for more connections in order to keep their own characters active and producing posts. But be careful not to have so many that you reply back to each super slowly and kill your partners' muse. If you get no replies back for long periods of time, your plan for more words isn't going to pay off.
-- Give yourself leeway. Based on the word count process we'll be using above and the fact that different systems and counters claim word counts differently, do not work at the end of November to ensure you have 50,007 words. Aim for a little give so that you don't get caught in unlucky counting. 20ish should be enough.
Deadline
NaNoWriMo closes at the end of the 30th November and we hope to have your winners processed within a few days of the competition closing. Awards will be put out in the next broadcast after numbers have been tallied. Have fun y'all! <3

Aeipathy NaNoWriMo - Results
Aaaand it's results time! First of all, I'd like to saw holy cow wow and awesome to the people who have been writing up a storm on Aeipathy! I know it sounds cliche but it really doesn't matter if you were someone who wrote 500 words or 50,000 words - every word you write on Aeipathy and every post you create helps someone else to write theirs and helps stories to develop. So, thank you so much to everyone who has been super active this month!
Whilst all contribution is good contribution, no matter how much, it is also (however) important to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements people have made in getting those word counts up high enough to qualify for the above awards. We value all contribution on this site, but it's human nature to want and deserve something when you have gone way beyond the call of duty. As such, please join me in celebrating the below members who have managed each awards stage of our Aeipathy NaNoWriMo <3

Shout Outs
Special shout-outs to Berry (for achieving the highest number of words overall), Urit (for being the member with the highest number of posts this month) and Kitsie who, despite having the largest number of characters on the forum managed to post as every single one of them (including the dead ones!) and ensure that none of her characters went onto Probation this month!
Awards and Results
Please note that all awards are being added to your character accounts as we speak, and within the next ten minutes or so, you'll be DMed a full break down of your character posts. I figured, when have I ever delivered exactly what I offer you guys and not gone the extra step? ^_^ -- you'll decide a full break down of how many posts you've written for each character, your word count, your number of posts and your words per post average. You'll also be sent any information regarding probation if your characters didn't make it through this month. I'll also be saving all of these stats for you in case anyone is interested in comparing next year!
Congratulations to all our winners and to those who had fun in this years Aeipathy NaNoWriMo <3
