The Baths of Antoninus dominate the landscape as one of the largest baths in all of Roma. Enclosed by towering walls of finely hewn stone and topped with massive faulted ceilings, the baths provide a place of respite and refreshment to all who visit. The complex is divided by sex into two halves, with a shared swimming pool in the centre. On either side, guests can find a frigidarium, tepidarium and caldarium — the cold, warm and hot baths respectively — as well as a gymnasium. Each marbled pool shimmers in the soft sunlight that filters in through high windows, and the hum of flowing water and chatter of guests serves as a constant soothing backdrop for all who visit.
